CONSOLIDATION

In renaming fractions whose denominators are powers of 10 to decimals: Count the number of ciphers of the denominator to determine the number of decimal places. Write the numbers of the numerator in the proper place value. Place ciphers after the decimal point to complete the required number of decimal places. For fractions less than 1, a zero may be written before the decimal point. For fractions greater than 1, the whole number is written before the decimal point. A decimal place tells the position occupied by the digits after the decimal point. Decimal are read as in the same way as their fractional form.
