Motivation for the work


The need of a system that adapts to a range of landscapes and move around it with ease at a low cost. Significant developments in field of planetary surface exploration lead to the use of terrain adaptable vehicles in terrestrial applications. MARS ROVER primary inspiration. Being trapped in a rocky or ice-laden region with crevasses and cracks is a true nightmare for any expedition or survey processes due to the hazards it poses. With the right rescue and construction robot such dangers can be averted and the rescue operations can be carried out, controlled by human beings, at a safe distance. Primary target is to build a manually controlled robot capable of traversing over different terrain, with a broken landscape and future development leading to an autonomous system which can be used as an Multi Terrain Multi Purpose Vehicle with applications ranging from day-to-day needs such as sewer lines maintenance and repair to serious applications such as search, rescue and support to the victims The problems encountered by rocker bogie mechanism needed correction for easy operation. Platform transformations that make the Multi Terrain Vehicle (MTV) useable from many day-to-day applications till military applications. Modifications of the rocker bogie wheel patterns leading to superior topple resistant capacity.

Introduction
The bots mechanical platform adopts the six wheel rocker bogie suspension design that provides superior grip over the terrain and also easier maneuverability. The purpose of using a rocker bogie suspension is to give the bot an extra tool for adapting itself to unfriendly terrain. The size of the bot renders itself useful not only in a rough terrain but also on smooth floors. Besides implementing any intelligent equipments the vehicle needs to sustain bumping, so steps are to be taken to overcome obstacles. The speed of the vehicle enable it to perform various functions such as surveillance, detection of defects, several agricultural functions like spraying of pesticides/planting seeds and even other domestic functions. The vehicle will be limited to a satisfactory working conditions as a prototype.
