Informal: interpersonal, horizontal communication. It used to be a barrier to effective org performance, not anymore. But it is one of effective conduct of work. Formal: is planned and linked to the achievement of specific objectives and strategies. They will be based on a formal hierarchy linked to authority and responsibility.

4 REASONS Y BUSINESS FAIL


Undirected information: Communication system dont help user to recognise the value of information Missing communication channels: either they dont exist or blocked(managers dont take action so info wont reach who need it) Missing motives: is not base on seeing values in sharing info Missing oversight: even with effective communication channel , incorrect info or no system for accuracy wont help

Clear B mission, value and strategies Take a lead in implementing and maintaining effective communication systems Involve staff in developing and implementing structure and procedures for communication Help their business to become a learning org

DEFINITION OF LEARNING ORGANISATION Definition: is essence the aim is to create a culture for the continuous learning for all employees. Senge suggested that: Learning organisation are where people continually expand their capacity to create the results they truly desire, where new and expansive patterns of thinking are nurtured, where collective aspiration is set free, and where people are continually learning how to learn together.

System thinking: things are interconnected and organisation are complex systems Mental model, the driving and fundamental value and principles of the organisation Share vision Team learning Leaders develop the method of understanding Has a system of capturing and learning information and moving it where needed It values its learning Encourage people to learn Resources invested there to promote learning Top management implementation in lower levels Knowledge being defused throughout the organisation and people being encourage to apply it to work
