APA ITU PERIFERAL?

Definisi Periferal
Perkakasan atau peranti yang disambungkan kepada komputer bagi menambah fungsi dan prestasi komputer

 Terdapat tiga jenis periferal yang disambungkan kepada komputer iaitu :

Peranti Input

Peranti yang digunakan untuk memasukkan data ke dalam komputer

Output Devices

Any hardware that is capable of delivering or showing information (able to shows, prints and presents information from the computer itself)

Storage devices
Electronic devices that store any information in the computer so that it can be retrieved whenever needed

PRINTER : TYPES and FUNCTION

A printer is an example of output device Printers can be used to print text and graphics on medium such as paper, transparency film or even clothes Types of printers : * Inkjet Printer * Laserjet Printer * Dot Matrix Printer

 Ink Jet Printer :

Using ink to print color image or text Time for printed image to dry is longer than laser jet printer Laser Jet Printer: Using toner (powder) to print color image or text Looks like a photocopy machine, with a same capability More expensive compared to ink jet printer Dot Matrix Printer: Using ink to print black and white image or text Printed image in low quality resolution Low cost compared to other types of printer

SCANNER :TYPES AND FUNCTION

A scanner is an example of input device Scanners can be used to analyze any images, text, objects and converts it into a digital image Types of printers :

* Flatbed scanner
* Hand-held scanner * Digital camera scanner * Planetary scanner * 3D scanner

Most expensive

 Flatbed scanner: Most common scanner in home or offices Hand-held scanner: Normally be used to scan the product barcode

Digital camera scanner: Based on the concept of reprographic cameras

LCD PROJECTOR
A liquid crystal display projector uses its own light source to project what is displayed in the computer onto the screen. It is a modern equivalent of the slide projector or overhead projector

DIGITAL CAMERA
Electronic devices used to capture and store photographs digitally, using the memory card Modern compact digital cameras are typically multifunctional, with some devices capable of recording sound , video as well as photographs

External CD Drives
The external DVD/CD-RW combo drive functions as a DVD player, a CD-RW drive and a CD-ROM drive. This allows you to install computer applications, files, music and movies on CD. It is easy to be carried around.

EXTERNAL STORAGE
One of alternative storage Very useful to store programs and data for future use. The storage is required because :
Working memory of CPU is limited Data and programmes in storage do not dissappear when the power is turned off
