Proofread your resume.

"I read it when I wrote it! Put your resume in front of people you trust - your boss excluded - and listen seriously to their suggestions.

You are what you read.

Buy/Borrow books. Browse the internet. Visit general libraries.

Be a resume voyeur.
Look at other people's resumes whenever you get the chance. You'll find good ideas - and bad ones. Consider using the best ideas for your own resume, as long as they relate to your experience.
12/22/2012 22

5 Resume Essentials

More resumes..More chances

You finally updated your resume, but you shouldn't stop there. If you're going to apply to a variety of jobs, make sure you have a resume tailored for each. A writer, for example, might have as many as six resumes: One for writer with additional versions for editor, copy editor, reporter, marketing manager and freelancer.

12/22/2012

24

Things that you should Consider:

EXPLICITNESS:

Leave nothing for imagination, Ex. Dont assume that employer knows that Helwan University is in Zamalek
RELEVANCY: Focus

on Job related issues and your success pattern , no one care that you play hokey unless it is related.
12/22/2012 27

Things that you should Consider:

PROPORTION:

Give appropriate attention to issues of interest to the employer. Example: If you seek to work as banker , dont write one paragraph describing your loan officer experience and three paragraph for you high school education.

12/22/2012

28

Things that you should Consider:

DETAILS:

Give details about your relative technical experience and education. HEADLINES This give the chance for reader to skim your resume and grab area of interest

12/22/2012

29

Things that you should Consider:

CLARITY

OF DATES & PLACES: Document your working experience accurately. Dont leave the reader guess where you were employed or for how long. Overlapping jobs ? Free periods ? LENGTH: How many pages ? What if you write more ? It becomes evident to the reader that: - you are unable to organize your thoughts. - you are trying too hard to make a good impression.
