Dhirubhai Ambani was born on 28th December, 1932 in a village named kukaswada near chorvad in the malia taluka of junagadh district. As Dhirubhai was born in poor family, he had to face many troubles in his childhood. In studies, he was not an extra -ordinary student. To disobey nawabs rule, he established student union that reflects his qualities of L E A D E R S H I P & C O U R A G E from his childhood.

In order to earn, at the early age of 16th he left INDIA & went to EDEN. At there he accepted job as an attendant at a petrol pump. Then he became marketing manager. Leaving EDEN he come back to INDIA in 1958 & established RELIANCE COMMERCIAL CORPORATION. With the investment of Rs. 15000 only. Finally in 1966, HE established Reliance Textile Industries was born out of Reliance Commercial Corporation and registered the name RELIANCE.

Reliance Textile had to face many obstructions Their path was not easy at all. Generally in business world it is said that it would take 1000days for any business to flourish. This proves wrong for Reliance. In the very first year it gains the profit of Rs 13 lakh in a decade, Dhirubhai turned Reliance into a Public Ltd. In 1977. If we compare according to the standards of developed nations, only Reliance can be included in it & according to that this mill is the best.

After making Reliance a Public Ltd. Co., Dhirubhai worked very hard for next 2 to 3 years for it development. Then he decided to enter the field of Petrochemicals in 1980. In 1994, Dhirubhai signed contracts for technology with almost 15 to 20 best companies. In 1991, Dhirubhai started a new project at HAJEERA with the investment of Rs 1000 crore & in 1994, he expanded it. In 1992 , he started production of polypropylene and polythene. In 1993, production of plastic & P.V.C. was expanded.

In 1999, he began petroleum refinery project at a place named khavdi which is situated 28 km. away from JAMANAGAR which is the biggest in INDIA & 5th in the WORLD. Jamanagar refinery is note worthy in many ways. It highlights characteristics of entrepreneur in Dhirubhai
