WiMAX Forum Release Specification

This is the nomenclature that describes: freq band, duplex, & (WiMAX Forum release*). Any given product, especially subscriber stations, may be compatible with more than one freq band and may support both TDD and FDD. This labeling is especially important for the consumer. (* Release number not included in current profile name) Release 1.7 introduces Retail Ready Certification

Physical Layer Features and Key Performance Metrics

Details the key air interface features introduced with each WiMAX release. It can be assumed, unless otherwise noted, that features in earlier releases are included in newer releases. So listing for each release only has to show added features. The performance metrics highlight the values most often cited in the public domain.

Key Network Features and Supported Services

This is to describe MAC later and end-to-end network features added with each release with a connection to the added supported services and revenue generating applications that are either added or enhanced with each new release.
