TORAH

instructions or learnings

A long, long time ago...

God gave His TORAH (instructions) to His people...

Take note!!!

ONLY ONE TORAH!!!

Through Gods TORAH contains: Gods Laws Statutes Commandments Regulations

Whats the issue??? NOW... - Some believers say that the TORAH (instruction)/LAW is still valid for believers but only for the Jewish believers!

OWS???!!!

What is the Scripture saying?

-

The Law given at Sinai was given to Jews and to soujourners (the smart ones..hehe)
gerim Gentiles who left Egypt

along with the Israelites and attached themselves to the Hebrew people. (eventually known to be converts or proselytes)

Exodus 12: 49 The same teaching is to apply equally to the citizen and to the foreigner living among you." Leviticus 24:22 You are to apply the same standard of judgment to the foreigner as to the citizen, because I am ADONAI your God." Numbers15: 14-16 If a foreigner stays with you - or whoever may be with you, through all your generations - and he wants to bring an offering made by fire as a fragrant aroma for ADONAI, he is to do the same as you. Num 15:15 For this community there will be the same law for you as for the foreigner living with you; this is a permanent regulation through all your generations; the foreigner is to be treated the same way before ADONAI as yourselves. Num 15:16 The same Torah and standard of judgment will apply to both you and the foreigner living with you.'"

Ephesians 2:11-22 - In Yeshua/Jesus, those who are formerly far off are now brought near through His shed blood. far away House of Israel (fullness of Gentiles) near House of Judah (Jews)

Whats the point then??? Every nation there is on the earth has Laws! It is the same in Gods Kingdom!

The same thing happens in Gods Kingdom with the new citizens!

BUT WAIT... THERES A PROBLEM!!!!

In Acts 15... The question here is Do Gentiles have to first become Jews observing the Laws of Moses before they can be saved?

ANSWER:

NO!!!! :-D

Gentiles are to follow the principles of an earlier covenant than the covenant given at Mt. Sinai. BUT... This is not to say that Gentiles are not required to learn from the complete word (OT at that time), so that they can move from a paganistic state of life to a holy life.

Lets take an example... Acts 10 Cornelius first convert to the believing community of Messiah. - observed many Jewish customs & practices in his life. - gave many alms to the Jewish people & he prayed continually - V2 says he was a devout man, a God-fearer

IF... Acts 15 injunction were all there was for a Gentile believer to observe, why did Paul put even one single verse of the TORAH, the writings, or prophets in any of his writings to the Gentiles.

Romans 4:3 Romans 3:10 Romans 11: 26 1Cor. 3:20

Gen. 15:6 Psalm 53:3 Isaiah 59:20 Psalm 94:11

GET THE POINT???

But just as Ruth (Moabites) said to Naomi...

Your people shall be my people and your God shall be my God Ruth 1:16

The intention of the Law was never to make one righteous. Instead: 1. It thought how one become part of the covenant community of God through grace. [identity crises] (Deut. 7:7-9) 2. How a person was to behave within this covenant community.

(through) grace saved = obedience

Wishful

thinking of Adonai Oh That they had such a HEART...
