COURSE DESCRIPTION
This Course discusses: Philosophy of knowledge in terms of definitions, concepts, theories, historical development, culture and knowledge transmission from Islam to the West. Science and Islam in terms of concepts, historical development as well as Islamic view on Science learning and knowledge. Methodology of Islamic science, and comparison between Islamic science and Western science. Technology in terms of concepts & historical development.

COURSE GRADING
Class Attendance: Students are required to attend class regularly. Students failing to attend class without valid reasons for three times will no longer be able to continue with the class. A total mark of 10% is earmarked for this on individual basis. Research / Class Presentation & Participation: All students will be divided into Six groups with each group having 4-5 Members. Each group will prepare and present assigned class topic. Each member of the group is expected to actively and fully participate. Each member is responsible to his/her group. A total mark of 10% is earmarked for this on individual basis.

Group Assignment/Book Review: Book review is a group assignment. Each group will review a book that is prior approved by the Lecturer. The Book Review Assignment shall be submitted (1) month from the date of approval of the Book to be reviewed. Each member is responsible to his/her group. A total mark of 20% is earmarked for this on individual participation.

COURSE GRADING
Mid-Semester Test: All students shall sit for the Mid-Semester Test which is expected to be conducted last week before the Mid-Semester Break. The Mid-Semester Test carries 20% on individual basis. Final Examination: All students shall sit for the Final Examination which is expected to be conducted Prior to the end of Semester and it carries 40% on individual basis.
