A Night With Classic ROCK!

What Classic Rock? NO WAY! Im a type of person who hates classic stuff and what about this Classic Rock". Moreover, Ive noticed most of the teenagers and youths out there are heading towards new era and leaving behind this classic stuff. For them, classic stuff is disgrace to them except for certain stuff like cultural followings. With my overwhelmed heart with trance song, I was invited to this concert and I attended this concert, themed Tribute To Classic Rock ,which was held in Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (KLPAC), Sentul and this concert was organized by International College Of Music (ICOM) as to mark the ICOM celebration series. Besides that , let me give you a brief introduction on classic rock. Classic rock music is a musical genre that relies heavily on popular songs that were produced in late 60s,70s and 80s,so, this concert features ninety minutes of power-packed hits from legendary rock artists and bands of the 1960s and 1970s. Form the mellow Have You Ever Seen The Rain to the charged Highway Star, one cannot help but sing (or scream) along and raise the horn hand sign to affirm the immense influence these artists and songs have on generations, even up five decades later. Of special mention is the Women in Rock segment, which plays tribute to women musicians who persevered against all odds to break the glass ceiling in a time when men dominated the rock music genre. BOOM-DAM-DA-BOOM. This was first tune I heard when I first entered the hall, then followed by some introduction through video presentation of ICOM. The first song played was Purple Haze (Jimi Hendrix) sang by Joseph Joachim, Me & Bobby McGee (Janis Joplin) sang by Amira Sachie and La Woman (Jim Morrison) sang by Caleb Savari. You wont believe, for the first time ever Ive got a fan in classical rock and I just love his hair indeed, afro hair and its quite long actually. This guy only plays drum under British Rock segment, Takaki Nakamura from Japan.This concert starts at 8:30 pm and ended up at 10:00 pm and felt like Im flying with it through out the concert. The faculty and students have spent much time and effort to showcase a challenging concert program. As the premiere college of contemporary music in Asia, we believe it is our responsibility to not only educate and develop young musicians in the study and practice of music, but also to heighten the appreciation of music among the general public in order to recognise the value music brings to the development of our culture and society, said Irene Savaree, President and CEO of ICOM. It has come to the end of the concert. The whole team gather up and rock it. I love that and the bass were awesome. The concert ends and everyone leaves the hall but I wont because I decided to take a picture with the classical rocking team and at last my wish came true. Returned back home late night with dad and once step in to my room, realised that, I missed the whole team that was rocking and blissful concert.
