    Neuromyotonia is a rare condition characterized by continuous muscle activity originating from peripheral nerves. Clinically, it presents with muscle twitching at rest, cramps that can be triggered by voluntary or induced muscle contraction, and impaired muscle relaxation. The main symptoms include muscle twitching, cramps, stiffness, hypertrophy, pseudomyotonia, mild weakness, and increased sweating. Pathophysiologically, it is caused by increased nerve terminal excitability from interference with potassium channels that stabilize membrane potential, often due to voltage-gated potassium channel antibodies. Electromyography shows spontaneous, irregular motor unit discharges firing at high frequencies.

    Neuromyotonia is a very rare condition of spontaneous, continuous muscle activity of peripheral nerve origin. It is characterized clinically by muscle twitching at rest (visible myokymia), cramps that can be triggered by voluntary or induced muscle contraction, and impaired muscle relaxation (pseudomyotonia). Often, patients also have symptoms of excessive sweating and more rarely mild muscular weakness, and paraesthesia
