Self-confidence comes about when you feel totally good about your self Confidence is mental or psychological condition of a person who gives a strong belief in themself to do or perform any act. More importantly, you do not judge yourself harshly and you aren't overly concerned about what people think of you

How to be confident?

1. Banish all negative thoughts

One way to being the journey towards selfconfidence is to banish all negative thoughts. According to psychology, the way we think of ourselves is a result of the influences we were expose to during our growing up years. Whether we grow up loving or hating ourselves largely depends on the positive or negative messages we get from our parents. However, as an individual, you can make a difference that dampen your spirit and make happy, positive ones really count

2. Chatting

Another way to build your confidence is to start chatting with people. Yes! People from all walks of life. It can be the cashier at the supermarket, the florists and your neighbors who happen to be in the same lift you are. Practice chatting up strangers and see how they being to relax and warm up to you, especially when they can feel your sincerity

3. Know what to talk about

In other for you to strike up a conversation or to be enganged in one, you ought to know what to talk about. Start reading and listening to the news.

Keep up with whatever that is happening around you and in the world.
Be observant and sensitive to your surroundings. This will make you feel smart and competent, thereby boosting your self-confidence.

4. Embrace your interests


If there's a sport or hobby you've always wanted to be good at, now's the time! Improving your skills will reinforce that you are talented, and subsequently boost your confidence. Take up a hobby you can do with a group. Finding like-minded people who share your interests can be an easy way to make friends and build confidence.

5. Make a list

Make a list of things that are obstacles to your confident. Take a piece of paper or computer and write all the things that you think are keeping you from becoming confident, e.g., bad grades, introversion, not many friends or no friends. Now write if the thing is valid or logical

6. Talk one notch louder


Talk one notch louder than other person. That's a simple and an effective psychological technique to become confident. When you are talking louder your subconscious and unconscious mind is recording your attitude towards the situation (you are sending the signal that Im confident whether you are with me or not) and as you make it as a habit you will feel more self control and confident. But don't be dominating.

7. Don't over-apologize.
Being able to say you're sorry is a good trait However, be careful to say it only when necessary. Before it slips out of your mouth, take a second to make sure this is a situation that actually needs an apology from you. Use workarounds. You can express your regret without actually apologizing. For instance, if you're worried about inconveniencing someone, you could say "I hope this hasn't been too much trouble" instead of automatically reverting to "I'm sorry."

8. Determine the direction and purpose of your life by making small goals that will drive you reach the destination due a big goal is a series of small goals that you accomplish.

Case 1 Any time you practice your english whether in your classroom, in the rooms or out campus don't worry about making errors. Errors are common in the process of mastering a foreign language. Therefore, just practice confidently and make errors. In the classroom your lecturer will help you correct your errors. Even yourself can sometimes realize your errors and try to correct by yourself. In this case, it's a good idea for you to check in your relavant book or even check with a lecturer whenever you don't feel sure about your language use whether in oral or written communication

Case 2 When performing in front of many people Because you have a good voice youre assigned to sing on stage in a performing arts event. This time you are ascending to the stage but you feel very shy, nervous and doesnt appear confident. Some way to solve it are to change the mindset and convince yourself that you can, you can and you can do it. Assume no one in front of the stage and do your best So, you can handle your trouble
