Subordinators
These join a dependent clause to an independent clause. They occur at the
beginning of sentences with a comma separating the clause mid-sentence or they occur mid-sentence with no comma.

Whereas, while
Whereas and while show clauses in direct opposition to each other. Notice that you should always use a comma with 'whereas' and 'while'.

'If' clauses express the conditions necessary for the result. If clauses are
followed by expected results based on the condition.
'Whether or not' expresses the idea that neither one condition or another
matters; the result will be the same. Notice the possibility of inversion (Whether they have money or not) with 'whether or not'.

They won't be able to come whether or not they have enough money.
'Unless' expresses the idea of 'if not' Example: Unless she hurries up, we
won't arrive in time. MEANS THE SAME AS: If she doesn't hurry up, we won't arrive in time.

It serves as an energizer in a majority government where the ruling party holds more than 50% of parliamentary seats.
AS, IN THAT
In that, introduce a statement that amplifies and justifies an (immediately) preceding assertion. It is a rather formal construction.
The Company was found guilty of negligence in that it failed to properly supervise the work of its subcontractors.
As it failed to properly supervise the work of its subcontractors, the Company was found guilty of negligence.
