Romanian Educational System

Pre-university Educational System has a four level structure:

Pre-primary school
Primary

school

Secondary school
Post

high school

Pre-primary School

Day Nursery
Children from 0-3 years old

Kindergarten
Children from 3-5/6 years old
There are kindergartens that have special programs for children that are: mentally disabled, Blind or with visual impairments, Deaf or with hearing impairments

Primary School

Consists of the first 4 grades

Pupils with mild and medium deficiencies may attend the classes of an ordinary school at their parents request Pupils with other types and degrees of deficiency may be enrolled in the first class in a special school or integrated in an ordinary school at their parents request

Secondary School System

The Inferior Secondary School System:

has 2 cycles that come next after
Gymnasium (5, 6, 7 and 8th grade) The inferior cycle of high school (9 and 10th grade) or vocational school

The Superior Secondary School System

The superior cycle of high school (11, 12/13th grade and the last year of vocational school

All the pupils enrolled in ordinary schools benefit from: - Psycho-pedagogical assistance - Professional assistance provided by itinerant and support teachers and - all the rights provided by the social services, according to the legislation

Integrated pupils, that have special

educational needs, benefit from adapted school programs, modified educational plans and personalized interventional programs

As adults,

Depending on the degree and type of disability, people with mental, visual, hearing and neuro-motor disabilities receive an amount of money as social help, they have personal assistant and they dont pay taxes

There are two institutions that twice a year offer jobs for the enlisted persons (people with handicap)

Agentia pentru ocuparea locurilor de munca (Agency for taking the vacant jobs) and Bursa locurilor de munca (the Jobs Market)

Special schools cooperate with:

1. The Department of Social Assistance and Childs Protection 2. State Inspectorate for Persons with Handicap 3.All the special schools from our county on a regular basis

SCHOOL YEAR IN ROMANIA

34 weeks School Starts in September 15th 1 week vacation in November 2 weeks vacation in December at Christmas 2 weeks vacation at Easter Vacation in some specials days like the 1st of December, the Romanian National Day Summer holiday starts at 15th June

EACH LESSONS IS 50 MINUTES FIRST GRADE 30 MINUTES, THAN THEY

PLAY GAMES BETWEEN THE LESSONS THERE ARE 10 MINUTES BREAK STUDENTS RECEIVE AT SCHOOL BREAD AND MILK (GOVERMENTAL PROGRAM FOR KINDERGARTEN AND PRIMARY SCHOOL) 4-5 LESSONS/ PER DAY
