What is a resume? A resume is a summary/history of employment experiences. How do I create a resume? The easiest way is to download a template off the internet. There are many different templates so pick the simplest one.

What is a Job Objective?

A job objective is a statement of your goals for employment. Stating an objective is optional, but it can help convince employers that you know what you want and are familiar with the field. The most effective objective is the one which is specific about the position and type of employment desired.

So just to recap : We start looking for a job, we have written our resume, applied for different jobs and now we have a job interview. The next step is to prepare ourselves both physically and mentallyfor the up and coming interview.

Grooming
As a Beauty Therapist we are obliged to present ourselves in a professional presentable manner. Let me give you a scenario: You are booked into a salon for a manicure and massage your therapist appears with no makeup on, her hair out and greasy, dirty, chipped nails and the smell of cigarettes and onions on her breath. How would this make you feel?

Employers are looking for professional staff that fit the following criteria: Professional in appearance , attitude, attendance and apititude A team player Responsible Commitment they are looking for long term commitment to the success of the business. Passion for the industry Bringing clientele to the business Respectful to both staff and clients A sales persons the ability to retail

Expectations and Standards

Treat all staff with courtesy and respect Provide adequate training and induction to the business Allow staff members to feel comfortable enough to ask questions without feeling inadequate To have patience with staff members, especially whilst in training

Wages are generally paid in accordance with the award and the award is a sliding scale that reflects years of experience skill Sometimes bonuses may be paid to reflect targets in sales and as a reward for achieving key performance indicators(KPIs).
