WHAT IS THE MOST CRITICAL CHANGE THAT YOUR ORGANISATION NEDDS TO MAKE RIGHT AWAY?

We have identified the critical factors those needs to be changed to improve our productability and profitability. And we will explain it on the basis of 7s principle.

STRATEGY:
Though our vision is very well quoted but we think we should concentrate on some more points. Those are 1- Strengthening Indian business: - We feel that till now we are neglecting our local market for the sake of foreign assignments. We should remember that foreign bodies may kicked out us at any time, but capturing the local market will enable us to do a long-term earning. 2- Creating a demand for stainless steel in the market: - We feel our marketing and R&D people should take some initiatives to create a demand for s/s. They should made the people to feel that s/s is a essential thing in their life. They should try to replace the m/s by s/s where ever economically possible. Like one example: steel structures used (for bridges or what ever it may be) in sea area ( corrosive environment) can be replaced by s/s, as s/s is anticorrosive.

STRUCTURE:
1-Employee structure should be organized: -We feel that somewhere there are more managerial level people than the actual people who execute the work. - somewhere work assigned to the employee doesnt match with his experience or background. 2- Our R&D sector should be strengthen: - It should be find a way to include s/s in everybodys everyday life.

SYSTEM:
1- To implement ISO-9000 and other such standards. 2- To implement Six Sigma, TPM, TQM processes.

STAFFING:
1- All managerial employees should be attend MDP where they will learn about things like Project, Operation, Planning, Finance, Costing, Marketing which is a must for a manager. 2- 360 degree appraisal system should be implemented. And standards/factors of evaluating performance should be clearly defined. - We feel that the current appraisal system is more biased. Sometimes we felt that the person who does the apple polishing get the promotion not the man who really do the work. So appraisal of a person should be done on the feedbacks taken not only from his boss but also from his just immediate senior, peers, assistants and the workers under him.

SKILLS:
1- Technical training should be given to the people working in the ground levels.

STYLES:
1- Management style should be TELLING and PARTICIPATING. - Now management style is either Telling or Delegating. It should be changed.

SHARED VALUE:
1- All employee should have a clear idea of companys vision, mission, target, position in market, financial status etc. 2- A work culture should be created where employees should feel discipline, honesty, trust for the company. He should feel that he is accountable for the quality of the job he is doing.

WHAT STOPS YOUR ORGANISATION FROM MAKING THAT CHANGE?


The main obstacles are 1- The top management should understand clearly what to change. 2- Mindset of every employee. - We feel that there is a lot of beurocracy, partialism in the top level management, which really creates a bad impression on management. - Many Lower level employees are frustrated because of the appraisal system, not getting basic facilities etc. Management should look after these lower level management groups who really carryout the work in the site. 3- Communication. - Communication between big boss and subordinate, inter department is not clear.
