Describe the typical family type in Vietnam

What the typical family type is How many generations/ people live together What roles for women and men What are children expected to do in the house What characteristics makes a happy family What characteristics makes an unhappy family Whether you are against or for that family type? Why? Why not

1. The most common type of family is a nuclear family with parents and children, I mean two generations. 2. In Vietnam, people tend to live in a nuclear family, which has two generations: parents and children, and each generation is expected to have different roles. 3. Men/males often go to work and earn more money to support the whole family while women/females are expected to stay home and take care of children. However, these days both men and women work and share their roles in taking care of children, but men are said to earn more money than women. And children go to school and sometimes help their mom with little housework such as cleaning the house or washing the dishes.

4. For me, to have a happy family, both the husband and wife should know how to balance between work and home. For example, they should spend more time at home to talk with their spouse and children. Children should listen to their parents and work hard at school.

5. Furthermore, the husband should share the workload with his wife. For instance, sometimes if the wife is busy, he can help her do the housework like cooking or doing the washing up.

Today, people seem not to connect as much as they used to. Marriage is no longer seen as something sacred and honorable like it was in the past. The reason for this is that, many couples live with each other and have children without getting married.

Overall, during the past decades, there have been many changes in the live of most Vietnamese citizens, but I believe they are changing for the better.
