SINGLE PHASE ACTIVE FILTER BASED ON WAVELET TRANSFORM

GUIDE Dr. JAGADANAND.G

PRESENTED BY DENISH VARGHESE M110125EE

WT IMPLEMENTATION USING LIFTING ALGORITHM

Consists of 3 basic steps : split, predict and update

Split

the input signal is divided into two disjoint sets, the odd

and the even samples

also called lazy wavelet transform

Predict

even samples are used to predict the odd coefficients d[n] = X[2n+1] P(X[2n]) P(.) is the predict function d[n]s are also called the detail coefficients

Update

d[n]s are passed through an update function and added

to even coefficients to get the new even coefficients

s[n] = X[2n] + U(d[n]) U(.) is the update function

completes one iteration same procedure is repeated taking s[n] as the input

iteration is continued till we obtain single odd and even

coefficient

DAUBECHIES 4 LIFTING SCHEME

sold(k) = x(2k)
dold(k) = x(2k + 1) dnew(k) = dold(k) -3 sold(k) snew(k) = sold(k) + (3/4) dnew(k) + ((3 -2)/4) dnew(k+1)

dnew(k) = snew(k-1) + dnew(k)

snew(k) = ((2 + 3)) snew(k) dnew(k) = ((2 - 3)) dnew(k)
