ACTS (1900-1935)

 Laws passed by the body or bodies acting as National Legislature from 1900 to the establishment of the Commonwealth in 1935 are denominated as Acts (or sometimes public acts). A bill which has passed through the various legislative steps required for it and which has become law.

 But also refers to more intangible acts such as adopting a decree, edict, law, judgment, award, determination. A stationary plan passed by Congress or any legislative which is a BILL until enacted or becomes law.

 Statutes are enactments of different legislative bodies since 1900

COMMONWEALTH ACT (1935-1941)

 applied under the Commonwealth Government of Manuel Luis Quezon y Molina (1935-1941) A record or statement of the decision made by a legislative or judicial body of the Commonwealth Government of the Phillippines

 The Philippine Commonwealth government was forced out of the country from 1942 1945, when the Philippines was under Jap anese control. In 1946, the Philippine Commonwealth ended when the Third Philippines Republic began.

PRESIDENTIAL DECREES
(1972-1986)

 issuances by the Chief Executive that had the force of law;

an innovation made by President Ferdinand E. Marcos with the proclamation of Martial Law on September 23, 1972 As of February 20, 1986, there were 2,036 Presidential Decrees promulgated.

 Presidential Decrees essentially served to arrogate unto the Chief Executive the law making powers that previously pertained to the Congress of the Philippines, and were retained even after the formal lifting of Martial Law in 1981. Only the President Marcos issued Presidential Decrees.

Presidential Decrees:
PD 1 Reorganizing the Executive Branch of the Government. PD 2 Proclaiming the Entire Country As a Land Reform Area. PD 3 Appropriating Funds for Public Works involving Rehabilitation and Capital Development, Synchronizing the same with Previous Public Works Appropriations.

 PD 4 Providing for the Development of the Rice and Corn Industry and Creating for this Purpose the National Grain Authority PD 603 The Child and Youth Welfare Code

BATAS PAMBANSA
(1972-1986)

 set of laws and statues that were created by the Modified Parliamentary Republic (who were the government at the time) 889 laws promulgated during the period of January 1, 1978 to December 31, 1986
