filled with the glory
of the Lord.
(Numbers 14:21)
Our MISSION

place” upon the face
of the earth with the
Glory of God.
Our MISSION

2. Demonstrate His Power

3. Manifest His Wisdom

Created For Glory
Isaiah 43:7
Everyone who is called by My
name, Whom I have
created for My glory;
I have formed him, yes, I have
made him."
Chosen For Glory
1 Peter 2:9-12
9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal
priesthood, a holy nation, His own special
people, that you may proclaim the praises
of Him who called you out of darkness into
His marvelous light; 10 who once were not
a people but are now the people of God,
who had not obtained mercy but now have
obtained mercy.
Chosen For Glory
1 Peter 2:9-12 (cont.)
11 Beloved, I beg you as sojourners and
pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts which
war against the soul, 12 having your
conduct honorable among the Gentiles,
that when they speak against you as
evildoers, they may, by your good works
which they observe, glorify God in the day
of visitation.
Chosen For Glory
Chosen by God to
be His people,
Chosen to fill the
earth with His Glory!

THE WORLD
Chosen To Love
John 13:34-35
A new commandment I give to you,
that you love one another; as I
have loved you, that you also love
one another. By this all will know that
you are My disciples, if you have love
for one another.

Obedient
Love Fervently
1 Peter 4:8-10
8 And above all things have fervent
love for one another, for love will cover
a multitude of sins. 9 Be hospitable to
one another without grumbling. 10 As
each one has received a gift, minister it
to one another, as good stewards of the
manifold grace of God.

“Stretched Out” Love

Love Fervently
1. Looking beyond faults, quirks,
failures, and mistakes. 1 Peter 4:8
2. Offering hospitality – investing
my resources relationally. 1 Peter 4:9
3. Serving (ministering to) each
other. 1 Peter 4:10
4. Stewarding grace – dispensing
God’s mercy and grace. 1 Peter 4:10
Love Fervently
It takes “stretched out”
love to build-up and
maintain Christian
Community.
Failure To Love
• Relational Disharmony will
destroy community.

• Isolation is the result of

community breaking down in a
person’s life.
Failure To Love
• Isolation occurs when
someone becomes
separated, withdrawn, or
insulated from their primary
relationships in community.
Failure To Love
• Once a person becomes
isolated, they begin to feel like
others do not want to be their
friend and will feel rejected,
hurt, disconnected and
alone.
Failure To Love
• The primary cause for
relational disharmony is people
becoming offended in
relationships and not resolving
the offenses in a biblical
manner.
Failure To Love
Proverbs 18:19
A brother (or sister) offended is
harder to win than a strong
city.
Failure To Love
• For a person to become
offended, someone has done
something (either intentionally or
unintentionally) that caused him or
her to experience displeasure,
humiliation, wounded feelings,
hurt, or some form of harm.
Failure To Love
• Instead of going to the person
that caused the harm, the hurt is
internalized.
• When hurt feelings are
internalized, they begin to fester
and turn into resentment and
bitterness.
Failure To Love
Greek word translated
“offended” is skandalon. It is
where we get the word
“scandalized.”

Hebrews 12:14-15
14 Pursue peace with all people, and
holiness, without which no one will see
the Lord: 15 looking carefully lest
anyone fall short of the grace of God;
lest any root of bitterness
springing up cause trouble, and by this
many become defiled.

Romans 12:16-21
16 Be of the same mind toward one
another. Do not set your mind on high
things, but associate with the humble.
Do not be wise in your own opinion.
17 Repay no one evil for evil. Have
regard for good things in the sight of all
men.
Love Fervently
Romans 12:16-21 (cont.)
18 If it is possible, as much as depends
on you, live peaceably with all men.
19 Beloved, do not avenge yourselves,
but rather give place to wrath; for it is
written, "Vengeance is Mine, I will
repay," says the Lord.
Love Fervently
Romans 12:16-21 (cont.)
20 Therefore "If your enemy is hungry,
feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a
drink; For in so doing you will heap
coals of fire on his head."
21 Do not be overcome by evil, but
overcome evil with good.

Ephesians 4:29-32
29 Let no corrupt word proceed out of
your mouth, but what is good for
necessary edification, that it may
impart grace to the hearers.
30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of
God, by whom you were sealed for the
day of redemption.
Love Fervently
Ephesians 4:29-32 (cont.)
31 Let all bitterness, wrath, anger,
clamor, and evil speaking be put away
from you, with all malice.
32 And be kind to one another,
tenderhearted, forgiving one another,
just as God in Christ forgave you.

James 3:5-10
5 Even so the tongue is a little member
and boasts great things. See how great
a forest a little fire kindles!
6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of
iniquity. The tongue is so set among
our members that it defiles the whole
body, and sets on fire the course of
nature; and it is set on fire by hell.
Love Fervently
James 3:5-10 (cont.)
7 For every kind of beast and bird, of
reptile and creature of the sea, is
tamed and has been tamed by
mankind.
8 But no man can tame the tongue. It is
an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
Love Fervently
James 3:5-10 (cont.)
9 With it we bless our God and Father,
and with it we curse men, who have
been made in the similitude of God.
10 Out of the same mouth proceed
blessing and cursing. My brethren,
these things ought not to be so.
