 OVERVIEW OF REPORT STUDIO
 Report Studio is an web based application in
Cognos ReportNet, which is used to create
reports as per company requirements and which
will be used for company growth by analyzing the
data.

 Brief on Value Prompts
 It’s a type of prompt which retrieves the data
based on the requirement of the user when
selected from a list.

 This control will display the list of values from

which user can select the value and retrieve the
desired report.

 HANDS ON – STEP 1

 Report Studio is select from the Cognos

connection and the package is selected for
which reports has to be generated.
 Select List report from the option to create New
List report.

 HANDS ON – STEP 2
 From the Insertable Source tab select the Dealers
table. Drag and drop the Dealer, Address, City
and State into the List.

 Group the Dealer and Address table in the list.

 HANDS ON – STEP 3

 From the Insertable objects Toolbox select the

Value prompt and drop it into the work space the
Value prompt wizard will appear.
 Name the Parameter and click next.

 HANDS ON – STEP 4
 Select the package item in create filter page and
click ok and click next.
 Select values to display in the report page prompt
in Populate control and click Finish to close the
wizard.

 HANDS ON – STEP 5
 In the Insertable pane double click the Prompt
Button which is shown in STEP-3 and the result
will as shown in the picture below.

 This Prompt Button will submits the items we

select and regenerates the report

 OUTPUT
 When you run the report the page below is
obtained, select the Dealer from the list.

 After the Dealer is selected the report generated

will be as shown below.
