Course Outcome
Upon successful completion of this course, students should be able to
Effectively use Microsoft Office tools to Create professional reports, communicate and share information with stakeholders in business organizations Use Microsoft Office Word to create, edit, format and print welldesigned letters, posters and reports Create professional presentations using Microsoft Office PowerPoint Use Microsoft Office Excel to turn data into meaningful information Use Excel to analyze, communicate, and share results
Use Microsoft Office Access to create and manage databases on desktop computers. Effectively use advanced SQL queries to manipulate database Protect the integrity and reliability of data Extend the capability of Microsoft Office Excel through the use of Visual Basic for Applications (or VBA) Macros and user-defined functions. You must become familiar with Blackboard to know all its aspects (e-mails, discussions, marks, assignments, calendar, etc.) http://uoit.blackboard.com/ Whatever shown on screen during lecture, assignments, projects, and term tests will be all available on Blackboard. In the e-mails you send and in the discussions you participate, the tone must be civil and the language must be courteous.

Academic Misconduct
Every student must be fully aware of the fact that plagiarism, cheating and other forms of dishonesty will not be tolerated under any circumstances, and will be dealt with according to the university policies as reflected in the university calendar. Late Assignments
Assignments should be submitted by 11:59 pm on the specified due date Mark deductions
25% for one day late 50 % for two days late 100% for more than two days

Missed Assessments
The weight of the missed assignment will be moved to the next assignment in the event a student has been unable to complete any quiz/assignment due to illness or any other excuse acceptable by the University. The weight of the midterm or final project will be moved to the final exam in the event a student has been unable to attend the midterm due to illness or any other excuse acceptable by the University.
Class Attendance
All lectures contain hands-on component

Grade Appeals
Appeals regarding assignments and project grades should be addressed to the TA first. If you and the TA cannot agree, then you can discuss the situation with the instructor. Appeals for midterm marks must be addressed to the professor. Appeals must occur within 10 days from the first day that the marks were made available to students. After the 10 days, the appeal will not be considered.

Notes to Remember
The best way to learn about this course is to do end of chapter hands-on exercises and case studies!!! Attendance is not mandatory, but highly recommended. Should you attend a lecture, out of respect to your instructor and fellow classmates, you must not disrupt the lecture in any way. Pagers and cell phones must be turned off during the lectures, tests and final exam.
