BACKGROUND
Chinas emergence as a dominant nation in the world after the second world war. Chinese economy has been growing at high speed for the past 20 years .

CHINESE STYLE OF MANAGEMENT

is founded on three managements: Chinese management, Western management, Overseas Chinese management.

CHINESE STYLE OF MANAGEMENT is directed by oriental management theories such as:


three wei : human orientation, moral

priority, behavioral cultivation by self discipline; four governance : country, business, family, individual; five conducts: principle, psychology, strategy, socialization, people; and three harmonies: harmony is priority, harmony is union, harmony is balance

CHINESE STYLE OF MANAGEMENT

Chinese management techniques has roots from the thirty six (36) Chinese stratagems

emphasizes the role of morality in management.

the concept of a close bond between two individuals forming a tie and establishes a stable relationship between the two individuals in social context.

Four Principles of GUANXI

Guanxi is transferable between parties with a common connection in-between them.

Guanxi is reciprocal.

Guanxi is intangible.

Guanxi is utilitarian and not emotional.

Face can be defined as the respect, pride and dignity of an individual in a society due to social standing It is also a measure of ones position in social network and is build up by a history of socially sanctioned behavior.

Almost everything in China is accomplished through the use of usually several contacts.

Chinese were taught the absolute authority of leaders in their society, that is why they obey rules or orders from their leader with no question at all. Chinese managers will not share or pass authority down the organizational structure. Also true for family.

3. Negotiations and ongoing relationships are not among individuals or people but among organizations or companies.
Chinese people regard relationships among them as nothing personal. They just act in behalf of the companies.

For Chinese, age is a symbol of experience and wisdom and is honed with each passing year.

Chinese prefer to communicate in person so as to give emphasis on sincerity and the importance of making time to meet and discuss topics. This is also a way of nurturing contacts and enhancing relationship.

CONCLUSION
The unique history of China has created

an interest among the business and management advocates to study the Chinese style of management. Culture is an important aspect that shaped Chinese bahavior in an organization, however other factors like political and economic are important as well.
