IS LOVE A PRINCIPLE?
 LOVE IS APPARENT: UNIVERSE
1 JOHN 4:8
He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is
love.
What is love?
MATTHEW 22:35-39
Then one of them, [which was] a lawyer, asked [him a
question], tempting him, and saying, Master, which [is] the
great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou
shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all
thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great
commandment. And the second [is] like unto it, Thou shalt
love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments
 LOVE IS VERTICAL AND
HORIZONTAL BY DEFINITION

MATTHEW 22:37, 39
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy
God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and
with all thy mind. And the second [is] like unto it,
Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
 LOVE PRECIPITATES ACTION
DEUTERONOMY 4:12, 13

JAMES 2:10-12
For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet

a transgressor of the law. So speak ye, and so do, as
they that shall be judged by the law of liberty.
HEBREWS 4:12, 13

the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the

thoughts and intents of the heart.
 LOVE IS A PRINCIPLE
MATTHEW 5:27, 28
Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time,
Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you,
That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her
hath committed adultery with her already in his
heart.
MATTHEW 19:5-8
And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and
mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain
shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more
twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined
together, let not man put asunder.
…They say unto him, Why did Moses then
command to give a writing of divorcement,
and to put her away? He saith unto them,
Moses because of the hardness of your hearts
suffered you to put away your wives: but from
the beginning it was not so.
LOVE SEEKS NO UNJURY TO OTHERS

 LOVE FOR GOD: TRANSFORMING NOT
CONFORMING
ROMANS 12:1, 2
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of
God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice,
holy, acceptable unto God, [which is] your
reasonable service. And be not conformed to this
world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of
your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good,
and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
2 CORINTHIANS 3:18
But we all, …are changed into the same image from
glory to glory, [even] as by the Spirit of the Lord.
LOVE FOR GOD: NEW/CLEAN HEART

…But [let it be] the hidden man of the heart, in that
which is not corruptible, [even the ornament] of a
meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God
of great price.
