Different types of play therapy:


There are two different approaches with Play therapy Directive or Non-directive. This depends on each individual child and circumstance, in some cases both are needed. Your counsellor will discuss the different approaches in your first meeting or feedback session. Non-directive - is often used with younger children to help them work through unresolved issues and trauma. Directive Therapy - is used most often with older children. Focussing on specific areas of concern and usually more short term in nature.
