Ethernet, serial communication and USB port available as standard - USB can be used to update device configuration, upgrade firmware or download data to a standard mass memory accessory (memory stick or portable hard drive).
Fast cross triggering over the network such that IDM+ devices on the same subnet can all record synchronised data to emulate a much larger recorder.
Clock synchronisation based on standard NTP protocol and separate 1pps. Slave units can be time locked to another IDM+ designated as master or an external source. IRIGB and IRIGJ can also be used if required.
Travelling Wave fault location - 2 circuits supported per 9 / 18 block of analogue inputs
Internal modem IP forwarding meaning one telephone line can support multiple devices Internal GPS receiver time synchronise the master device to 100ns. IEC61850 protocol to accept GOOSE DFR triggers, log digital status defined in the GOOSE message and send DFR comtrade files to third party software on recipt of the appropriate commands

Two 6U Variations
Feature 6U high 19 wide Options of : 18 Analog and 64 digital channels, or 36 Analog and 128 digital channels Advantage Ideal for centralised architecture with higher channel counts
Analogue Inputs
Each input can be AC voltage, AC current or DC selected at
time of order
AC voltage range selected from 140V, 170V, 480V and 800V full scale deflection
AC current range selected from 10A, 20A, 50A and 100A full scale deflection (200A available on request) DC range selected from 12V, 120V, 240V, 480V, 4-20mA loop DC inputs can be used for monitoring circuit breaker trip coil current (to assist in condition based maintenance), s/s battery voltage or other transducer output

Digital Inputs
Wide ranging input from 48 to 250VDC. (24 to 250VDC optional). Selectable De-bounce Channels grouped in multiples of 8 with one common. Each group isolated from the other.
Calculated Channels
The FR engine calculates rms magnitude, phase angle, sequence components from each 3 phase group, single phase and three phase power from each circuit and system frequency.

Clock Synchronisation
Devices can be set up on a master slave basis Master can be synchronised from GPS, IRIGB, IRIGJ or NTP 100ns accuracy obtained with GPS necessary for TWS and PMU applications 1pps option required with IRIGB, IRIGJ and NTP for 1 micro second accuracy

IDME Upgrade
IDME(evolution) is an upgrade path from an IDM to the next generation fault monitoring family from Qualitrol IDM T3 and T5 fault recorders can be upgraded to the IDME versions. Aim is to upgrade whilst maintaining existing field wiring
Upgrade
Back to Index
IDME Upgrade
Upgrade from IDM to IDME involves replacing the following boards
CPU board Analogue board Digital (event) board Front panel MMI
VT/CT Boards and PSU retained
The original IDM internal CT can be left in service but not used no need to touch the original CT cabling
Back to Index
This will provide improved CT performance without the need for external split core CTs BUT will require that the CT and VT wiring is disconnected from the rear of the IDM whilst the VT/CT board is modified or replaced. Some Utilities are OK with this arrangement as they can use test switches to short the CT wiring and can upgrade without the need for a line outage.
