YOUR ROLE AND DUTIES

Effective Rotary Club


Sustain or increase their membership base. Implement successful Service Projects in their community and communities in other countries. Support The Rotary Foundation, both financially and through program participation. Develop leaders capable of serving in Rotary beyond the club level.

Club Presidents Qualifications


Compulsory attendance of PETS and District Assembly. Ability to assume leadership. Should possess the esteem and confidence of the members. Should have sufficient time and preparation to put the efforts necessary to lead the club. Should have served as a Board Member, a member of one or more of the Major Committees, or Club Secretary. Should have working knowledge of Club Constitution and By-laws.

Presidents Duties
Ensure that each meeting is carefully planned. Ensure that each committee has definite objectives. Ensure that all correspondence is handled promptly. Supervise the preparation of your club budget & proper accounting of club finance.

Appoint a Club Trainer and plan a comprehensive training program for the club members. Impart information from GML and other literature to the Club Members. Smooth transition of accounts & all relevant records to P E before leaving office. Arrange a joint meeting of incoming and outgoing club-boards to provide continuity of administration

The Board of Directors


The board of directors is the Governing Body of the club. The board has general control over all officers and committees and, for good cause may declare any office vacant. The decision of the board in all club matters is final, subject only to an appeal to the club. However as to a decision to terminate membership, the member may appeal to the club, request mediation or request arbitration.

If appealed a decision of the board shall be reversed only by a 2/3rd votes of all the members present. A vacancy in the board or any office shall be filled by the action of the remaining directors. Prior to the beginning of the New Year, the board will prepare a budget of estimated income & expenditure. The club shall not consider any resolution or motion to commit the club on any matter until the board has considered it.

Treasurer
Its duty of the treasurer to have custody of the funds, accounting for it to the club annually and at any other time upon demand by the board. A treasure should help in making a budget for the coming year. The budget shall be broken into two separate parts: a In respect of club operations. b. In respect of service operation.

The club funds shall be divided in two separate parts: Club operations & Service projects. All bills shall be paid by the treasurer only if approved by two other officers or directors. Officers in control of club funds shall give bond for the safe custody of the funds. The treasurer should make the payment of all dues time to time.
