93% body language and paralinguistic clues, while only
7% of communication consists of words themselves,55%
of communication is based on what people see and
other 38%is transmitted through tone of voice.

Forms of body language
• EYE CONTACT is the most obvious way you communicate.maintain
eye contact about 60% of the time in order to look intersred but not
aggressive.
• FACIAL EXPRESSION is another form of non-verbal
communication.A smile sends a positive message and is
appropriate in all but a life and death situation.Smile adds warmth
and aura of confidence.
• MOUTH MOVEMENTS gives clues too and not just when you are
speaking.Movements such as pursuing your lips or twisting them
one side can indiacte that your thinking about what you atre hearing
or that yor are holding something.
• POSTION OF HEAD speaks to people. Keeping your head straight
which is not the same as keeping your head on straight will make u
appear self-assured and authoritative.
• ARMS crossed or folded over your chest say that yoyu have shut
other pple out and have no interst.Waving them about may show
enthusiasm to some but others see this gesture as one of
uncertainity and immaturity.
• ANGLE OF YOUR BODY gives anindication to others about what is
going through your head.Adding a nod of ur head is another way to
affirm that you are listening.
• POSTURE is an important form of body language. When ypou
slump in your chair or lean on the wall you look tired. No one wants
to do business with some one who hav no energy.]
• HANDS by paying attention to where they are. They should keep
them out of your pockets and ypou should resist the urge to put
them under the table or behind your back.
• LEGS talk too. A lot of movement indicates nervousness. The
preferred position for the polished professional are feet on the floor
or legs crossed at the ankles.
• DISTANCE you keep from others is crucial if you want to establish
good rapport.Positioning yourself too far away will make you seem
standoffish nither is what you want so find the happy medium.
• CONFIDENCE Clasping hands behind the back or in front of
the body reflects confidence. A confident person generally
stands upright. He doesn't panic when he makes mistakes
because he knows that making mistakes is part of the
human nature.
• EVALUATION If he started, touching his chin then he is
evaluating what are you saying, keep talking, you are about
to convince him.
• ORIENTATION If you found that the customer is not facing you
directly (his shoulders are not parallel to yours) then he may be
wanting to leave or he may be in a hurry, come back later.
• HANDS ON MOUTH if the hides coustmer his mouth with his hands
that means the he either wants to comment on what you are saying
or either not convinced by what you are saying.
• RAPPORT BUILDING rapport building is one of the NLP (neuro
linguistic programming) techniques that can make other people
have the same feelings towards you as the feelings you had towards
that person you have met abroad.
