THE LOUD CRY

CHRIST OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS

Christ has given to the church a sacred charge. Every member should be a channel through which God can communicate to the world the treasures of His grace, the unsearchable riches of Christ. There is nothing that the Saviour desires so much as agents who will represent to the world His Spirit and His character. There is nothing that the world needs so much as the manifestation through humanity of the Saviour's love. All heaven is waiting for men and women through whom God can reveal the power of Christianity. {AA 600.1}

The church is God's agency for the proclamation of truth, empowered by Him to do a special work; and if she is loyal to Him, obedient to all His commandments, there will dwell within her the excellency of divine grace. If she will be true to her allegiance, if she will honor the Lord God of Israel, there is no power that can stand against her. Zeal for God and His cause moved the disciples to bear witness to the gospel with mighty power. Should not a like zeal fire our hearts with a determination to tell the story of redeeming love, of Christ and Him crucified? It is the privilege of every Christian, not only to look for, but to hasten the coming of the Saviour. {AA 600.2}

The last rays of merciful light, the last message of mercy to be given to the world, is a revelation of His character of love. The children of God are to manifest His glory. In their own life and character they are to reveal what the grace of God has done for them. The light of the Sun of Righteousness is to shine forth in good works. {COL 416.1}

The last message of warning and mercy is to go to "every nation and kindred and tongue" (Rev. 14:614), "to take out of them a people for His name" (Acts 15:14; Rev. 18:1). And the earth shall be lightened with His glory. Christs Object Lessons {COL 78}

-Testimonies to Ministers, p. 50. "God has a church on earth who are lifting up the downtrodden law, and presenting to the world the Lamb of God that taketh away the sins of the world. The church is the depositary of the wealth of the riches of the grace of Christ, and through the church eventually will be made manifest the final and full display of the love of God to the world that is to be lightened with its glory."

THE GLORY OF GOD IS HIS CHARACTER!

Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise [man] glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty [man] glory in his might, let not the rich [man] glory in his riches: But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I [am] the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these [things] I delight, saith the LORD. (JEREMIAH. 9:23-24).

BEHOLDING JESUS CHRIST FORMED IN YOU IS THE HOPE OF GLORY!

(Exodus 33.18-19) (Exodus 34. 6-7) So the followers of Christ are to shed light into the darkness of the world. Through the Holy Spirit, God's word is a light as it becomes a transforming power in the life of the receiver. By implanting in their hearts the principles of His word, the Holy Spirit develops in men the attributes of God. The light of His glory--His character--is to shine forth in His followers. {COL 414.2}

BEHOLDING JESUS CHRIST FORMED IN YOU IS THE HOPE OF GLORY!

In the face of Jesus Christ. There "we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory," from righteousness to righteousness, from character to character, from goodness to goodness, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. {February 27, 1893 ATJ, GCDB 415.1}

Gods people show forth His glory, His character. See Ex 33:8, 9 and Ex 34:6, 7. We are commissioned to Declare his glory (character) among the heathen, his wonders among all people (Psalms 96:3). The message of Christ's righteousness is to sound from one end of the earth to the other to prepare the way of the Lord. This is the glory of God, which closes the work of the third angel.--6T 19 (1900). {LDE 200.3} Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven (Matt 5:16).

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God, we have the mind of Christ. (1 CORINTHIANS 2:12, 16) Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus (PHIL 2:5) And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you, (GALATIANS 4:6-7, 19) That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man. Ephesians 3:16.

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. (ROMANS 12:2) After

those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. (JEREMIAH 31:33)

Jesus, looking down to the last generation, saw the world involved in a deception similar to that which caused the destruction of Jerusalem. The great sin of the Jews was their rejection of Christ; the great sin of the Christian world would be their rejection of the law of God, the foundation of His government in heaven and earth. -Great Controversy, 22:2.

The last great conflict between truth and error is but the final struggle of the long-standing controversy concerning the law of God. Upon this battle we are now entering-a battle between the laws of men and the precepts of Jehovah. Great Controversy, 582:2.

The spirit of the papacy *is+ the spirit of conformity to worldly customs, the veneration for human traditions above the commandments of God that is permeating the Protestant churches and leading them on to do the same work of Sunday exaltation which the papacy has done before them.-Great Controversy, 573:1.

There will be a universal bond of union, one great harmony, a confederacy of Satans forces. And shall give their power and strength unto the beast. Thus is manifested the same arbitrary, oppressive power against religious liberty, freedom to worship God according to the dictates of conscience, as was manifested by the papacy, when in the past it persecuted those who dared to refuse to conform with the religious rites and ceremonies of Romanism. In the warfare to be waged in the last days there will be united, in opposition to Gods people, all the corrupt powers that have apostatized from allegiance to the law of Jehovah. In this warfare the Sabbath of the fourth commandment will be the great point at issue, for in the Sabbath commandment the great Lawgiver identifies Himself as the Creator of the heavens and the earth. (Manuscript 24, 1891). Selected Messages, Vol. 3, 392,393.

The world and the churches are breaking God's law, and the warning must be given, "If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead or in his hand, the same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation." With such a curse hanging over the transgressors of God's holy Sabbath, it is my duty to reveal the cutting unvarnished truth of God, because { Jesus} the Lord of the Sabbath is not willing that none should perish, but all come to repentance.

And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive [his] mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name. Rev.14: 9-11.

Sin is the transgression of Gods law ,1 John. 3:4-. Even transgressing the fourth commandment (Remember the Sabbath Day) is sin and in transgressing, the wages of sin is death. The only power of God unto salvation is through the lamb of God, who was slain from the foundation of the world. Jesus predestined the whole world be save, for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son. For Jesus came into this world , not to condemn the world, but the world through him be saved ,John.3 16,17-. The cup of Gods wrath of indignation is about to be poured out upon all who live in transgression and sin, but we have a way of escape through Christ, the King of Righteousness. That is because he took that cup of the wrath of God for us in Gethsemane and Calvary.

Here is the patience of the saints: here [are] they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. Rev.14: 12. The faith of Jesus, It is talked of, but not understood. What constitutes the faith of Jesus, that belongs to the third angel's message? Jesus becoming our sin-bearer that He might become our sin-pardoning Saviour. He was treated as we deserve to be treated. He came to our world and took our sins that we might take His righteousness. Faith in the ability of Christ to save us amply and fully and entirely is the faith of Jesus. {12MR 193.4}

The only defense against evil is the indwelling of Christ in the heart through faith in His righteousness. Unless we become vitally connected with God, we can never resist the unhallowed effects of self-love, self-indulgence, and temptation to sin. We may leave off many bad habits, for the time we may part company with Satan; but without a vital connection with God, through the surrender of ourselves to Him moment by moment, we shall be overcome. Without a personal acquaintance with Christ, and a continual communion, we are at the mercy of the enemy, and shall do his bidding in the end.DA, p. 324.

In order to meet the requirements of the law, our faith must grasp the righteousness of Christ, accepting it as our righteousness.Selected Messages, Vol. 1, p. 374. Genuine faith appropriates the righteousness of Christ, and the sinner is made an overcomer with Christ; for he is made a partaker of the divine nature, and thus divinity and humanity are combined. Selected Messages, Vol. 1, p. 3634.

The Sabbath will be the great test of loyalty, for it is the point of truth especially controverted. When the final test shall be brought to bear upon men, then the line of distinction will be drawn between those who serve God and those who serve Him not. {LDE 225.2}

While the observance of the false sabbath in compliance with the law of the state, contrary to the fourth commandment, will be an avowal of allegiance to a power that is in opposition to God, the keeping of the true Sabbath, in obedience to God's law, is an evidence of loyalty to the Creator. While one class, by accepting the sign of submission to earthly powers, receive the mark of the beast, the other, choosing the token of allegiance to divine authority, receive the seal of God.--GC 605 (1911).

In the issue of the contest all Christendom will be divided into two great classes-those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus, and those who worship the beast and his Image and receive his mark. Although church and state will unite their power to compel all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond (Revelation 13:16), to receive the mark of the beast, yet the people of God will not receive It. -Great Controversy, 450:1.

The wrath of God mentioned by the third angel is the seven last plagues. "In them is filled up the wrath of God," Rev.15:1. If we submit to the beast and his image by keeping their commandments, we must drink of the wine of the wrath of God without mixture, which is soon to be poured out in the seven last plagues. {1855 RFC, BIC 122.3}

And each one who lives the natural course of life, will be called upon, and that soon, to decide for himself whether he will "worship Him that made Heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters" (Rev. 14:5-12); or whether he will renounce allegiance to God and worship the papal power and the National Reform image to it in the United States. The commandment of God says, "The seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God; in it thou shalt not do any work." In defiance of this commandment, and upon the sole authority of the Catholic Church, the National Reformers are going to enact a law by which they can compel everybody to
keep Sunday. But, "If any man worship the beast and his image, . . . he shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation. . . . Here is the patience of the saints; here are they that keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus." Rev. 14:9-12.A. T. J. {January 28, 1886 ATJ, SITI 59.7}

(GODS) His glory will fill the earth as the waves fill the sea.
The glory may be thought of as representing the character of God (cf. Ex. 33:18,19; 34:6,7), here particularly as revealed in the plan of salvation. 7SDA Bible Commentary, 860 "Notwithstanding the spiritual darkness and alienation from God that exist in the churches which constitute Babylon, the great body of Christ's true followers are still to be found in their communion." GC 390. During the loud cry the church, aided by the providential interpositions of her exalted Lord, will diffuse the knowledge of salvation so abundantly that light will be communicated to every city and town. - Evangelism, 694:1. In every city In America the truth is to be proclaimed. In every country of the world the warning message is to be given.-Last Day Events, 208:3.

In heathen Africa, in the Catholic lands of Europe and of South America, in China, in India, in the islands of the sea, and in all the dark corners of the earth, God has in reserve a firmament of chosen ones that will yet shine forth amidst the darkness, revealing clearly to an apostate world the transforming power of obedience to His law. Even now they are appearing in every nation, among every tongue and people; and in the hour of deepest apostasy, when Satans supreme effort is made to cause all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive, under penalty of death, the sign of allegiance to a false rest day, these faithful ones, blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, will shine as lights in the world. The darker the night, the more brilliantly will they shine.-Prophets and Kings, pp. 188, 189.

Num. 14:12-21. When Moses plead for Israel, God answered his prayer and promised that all the earth shall be filled with the glory of God. This is the first promise of the loud cry. Ps. 72:19. David repeats the promise. Isa. 6:3. An heavenly seraphim assures Isaiah of the promise. Isa. 11:9. Isaiah repeats it. Hab. 2:14. Again the promise is given. Eze. 43:2. Ezekiel saw the earth shining with the glory of God. Rev. 18:1, 2. John also saw the earth lightened with the glory of God. He heard the mighty cry of the angel in charge of this work. Six prophets of God have been permitted to see this great work which will be accomplished before Christ returns to the earth. 9T p. 154, 209; v.8, p. 19-21; E.W. 37, 27, 277.

The loud cry will be a great light shining, amid earths deepening darkness. Amidst the deepening shadows of earths last great crisis, Gods light will shine brightest, and the song of hope and trust will be heard In clearest and loftiest strains. -Education, 166:7. Servants of God, with their faces lighted up and shining with holy consecration, will hasten from place to place to proclaim the message from heaven. By thousands of voices, all over the earth, the warning will be given. Miracles will be wrought, the sick will be healed, and signs and wonders will follow the believers. Satan also works, with lying wonders, even bringing down fire from heaven in the sight of men. Revelation 13:13. Thus the inhabitants of the earth will be brought to take their stand. {GC 612.1}

The message will be carried not so much by argument as by the deep conviction of the Spirit of God. The arguments have been presented. The seed has been sown, and now it will spring up and bear fruit. The publications distributed by missionary workers have exerted their influence, yet many whose minds were impressed have been prevented from fully comprehending the truth or from yielding obedience. Now the rays of light penetrate everywhere, the truth is seen in its clearness, and the honest children of God sever the bands which have held them. Family connections, church relations, are powerless to stay them now. Truth is more precious than all besides. Notwithstanding the agencies combined against the truth, a large number take their stand upon the Lord's side. {GC 612.2}

Who will GOD use to give the last message of mercy?

It will be given by humble men of faith and prayer
Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. (Matt 18:4) Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up. James 4:10 And it shall come to pass afterward, [that] I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy (JOEL 2:28) As the time comes for It to be given with greatest power, the Lord will work through humble Instruments, leading the minds of those who consecrate themselves to His service. The laborers will be qualified rather by the unction of His Spirit than by the training of literary institutions. Men of faith and prayer will be constrained to go forth with holy zeal, declaring the words which God gives them.-GC 606:2.

Uneducated men and even children will proclaim this final message.
Many. . will be seen hurrying hither and thither, constrained by the Spirit of God to bring the light to others. The truth, the Word of God, is as a fire in their bones, filling them with a burning desire to enlighten those who sit in darkness. Many, even among the uneducated, now proclaim the words of the Lord. Children are impelled by the Spirit to go forth and declare the message from heaven. The Spirit is poured out upon all who will yield to its promptings, and, casting off all mans machinery, his binding rules and cautious methods, they will declare the truth with the might of the Spirits power. Multitudes will receive the faith and join the armies of the Lord.-Evangelism, 700:1. For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus (GAL 3:26). But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on his name (John 1:12) That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world (Phil 2:15).

It will not be churches or other organizations which will be in charge of this final work; but only the God of heaven.
Unless those who can help in ___ are aroused to a sense of their duty, they will not recognize the work of God when the loud cry of the third angel shall be heard. When light goes forth to lighten the earth, instead of coming up to the help of the Lord, they will want to bind about His work to meet their narrow ideas. Let me tell you that the Lord will work in this last work in a manner very much out of the common order of things, and in a way that will be contrary to any human planning. There will be those among us who will always want to control the work of God, to dictate even what movements shall be made when the work goes forward under the direction of the angel who joins the third angel in the message to be given to the world. God will use ways and means by which it will be seen that He is taking the reins In His own hands. The workers will be surprised by the simple means that He will use to bring about and perfect His work of righteousness. -Testimonies to Ministers, 300:0.

Printed literature will be important.

More than one thousand will soon be converted in one day, most of whom will trace their first convictions to the reading of our publications. -Evangelism, 693:3. The results of the circulation of this book [The Great Controversy] are not to be judged by what now appears. By reading it some souls will be aroused and will have courage to unite themselves at once with those who keep the commandments of God. But a much larger number who read it will not take their position until they see the very events taking place that are foretold in It. The fulfillment of some of the predictions will inspire faith that others also will come to pass, and when the earth is lightened with the glory of the Lord In the closing work, many souls will take their position on the commandments of God as the result of this agency.-Colporteur Ministry, 128:4-129:0.
