Transilvania Bank is a banking institution with the headquarter in ClujNapoca, Romania. The bank was founded in December 1993, at Cluj as an initiative of some businessmen from this town, with 2 billion lei social capital.

The main idea was to create a local bank, a Cluj brand.

The board of directors president is mr. Horia Ciorcil and the main shareholder is the Eurpean Bank for Reconstruction and Development. 79% from the capital was roumanien and 21% foreign capital.

About 6.000 employees sharing BT's corporate culture and principles focuse on the quality of their work and customer satisfaction. Banca Transilvania is represented in all the country , having currently more than 500 branches and agencies

2002 represented a turnaround year for Banca Transilvania, a new management approach, benefiting from an international know-how imprinting a different management style to the bank. A year later, 2003, Banca Transilvania decided to change its corporate identity, starting a re-branding process and implementing a new, standard concept throughout its whole branch network.

Mondo is a Mastercard debit card account in domestic and international use, for individuals. The card can be used in the country and abroad, wherever the MasterCard logo is displayed, for purchases at merchants, online, ATMs without any fees! Social Responsibility Programmes

Cluj Has a Soul" is the most important project of social involvement of BT. Among its most notable accomplishments include opening a day center in Cluj, for the development of educational activities, for young people who need help. So far, over 400 teenagers have benefited from programs and the support team of specialists in social services.
