Arts in The Future

Our method
Arts are created, or at least manifested, by humans. Changing social conditions creates different human-artists. Different humanartists create different arts. We will think of a few certain directions along which social conditions will change, and guess how arts would change along. Some guesses might be already partially confirmed by the current state of arts.

More freedom
Less arts censorship prescribed by laws. No/less sense of working as a duty (e.g. for the King). More easy to earn a living:
More time to work independently. Less concern about reception.

More supporting information and communication system

More easy to self-learn:
Less standardized learning environment (more varied artistic experiences).

Express and share ideas faster and wider.

Consequence 1: Arts become more revealing and influential

Causes:
With more freedom and time to work, artists dwell deeper into their souls, find and reveal unnoticed universal aspects of human souls. The less standardized learning environment increases the chance of finding something interesting. The modern information system magnifies the influence of arts.

Significance:
Arts not only reflects, but also shapes human history.

Consequence 2: Arts become more abstract

Cause:
The new, interesting things artists encounter in their souls are certainly less concrete than before. Artists care less about reception, since they can work independently more easily.

Significance:
The separation between the artists and the audience is larger. Misunderstanding can remain unsolved. Arts influence might decrease.

Consequence 3: Arts have more new applications

Cause:
As the notion that arts can be revealing about our souls becomes clearer, we might actively attempt to use arts to solve various human-related problems or to increase our efficiency.

Consequence 4: Breakthrough in arts become less individual/more collective

Cause:
The modern communication system connects likeminded people faster

Consequence 5: A turning point?

Science solves the mystery of consciousness. Arts, as a production of consciousness, changes drastically. We come to know something very profound about the reality. Arts, playing its role of reflecting human history and knowledge, changes drastically.

Significance: We dont really know.
