The Glory
of God
God’s glory is
the sum total of
who God is, as
defined by His
attributes.
The glory of
God is both
essential and
declarative.
His essential glory
represents all that is in Him
which is glorious.
His intrinsic greatness or
weightiness, His manifold
majesty, brilliance, beauty,
depth, and awesomeness. It is all
His attributes in perfect balance.
His declarative glory
is the showing forth or the
revealing of His attributes
that man can experience.

Summed up as His
goodness, greatness,
and wisdom.
Psalm 145:3-
6 Speaks of
His Greatness
Psalm 145:3-6
3 Great is the Lord, and greatly
to be praised; And His
greatness is unsearchable.
4 One generation shall praise
Your works to another, And
shall declare Your mighty
acts.
Psalm 145:3-6 (cont.)
5 I will meditate on the glorious
splendor of Your majesty,
And on Your wondrous
works.
6 Men shall speak of the might
of Your awesome acts, And I
will declare Your greatness.
Psalm 145:7-10
Speaks of
His Goodness
Psalm 145:7-10
7 They shall utter the memory of
Your great goodness, And
shall sing of Your
righteousness.
8 The Lord is gracious and full
of compassion, Slow to anger
and great in mercy.
Psalm 145:7-10 (cont.)
9 The Lord is good to all, And
His tender mercies are over all
His works.
10 All Your works shall praise
You, O Lord, And Your saints
shall bless You.
Psalm 33:11
Speaks of
His Wisdom

The counsel of the
LORD stands forever,
The plans of His heart
to all generations.
God is …
Glorious.
He is All Good
He is All Great
He is All Wise
The Glory
of God
comes to
earth.
Isaiah 9:6
Unto us a Child is born, Unto us
a Son is given; And the
government will be upon His
shoulder. And His name will be
called Wonderful, Counselor,
Mighty God, Everlasting Father,
Prince of Peace.
2 Corinthians 4:6
For it is the God who
commanded light to shine out
of darkness, who has shone in
our hearts to give the light of
the knowledge of the glory
of God in the face of
Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 1:24
but to those who are
called, both Jews and
Greeks, Christ the
power of God and
the wisdom of God.
Hebrews 1:3
Who being the brightness of His
glory and the express image of
His person, and upholding all
things by the word of His power,
when He had by Himself purged
our sins, sat down at the right hand
of the Majesty on high.
The Glory
of God
fills the
earth.

John 17:22
And the glory which You
gave Me I have given
them, that they may be
one just as We are one.
Isaiah 43:7
Everyone who is called by My
name, Whom I have created
for My glory; I have formed
him, yes, I have made him."
He does not mean He made us
so that He could become more
glorious in Himself. Instead
what Isaiah 43:7 means is that
He created us to display His
glory, that His glory might be
known and praised.
- John Piper
Colossians 1:27
To them God willed to make
known what are the riches of
the glory of this mystery among
the Gentiles: which is Christ
the hope of
in you,
glory.

That ye may show forth - By your
whole behavior, to all mankind.
The excellent glory - the virtues,
wisdom, and power of Him, Christ,
who hath called you out of the
darkness of ignorance, error, sin,
and misery. - John Wesley
