NICKEL ALUMINIDES
Nickel aluminide (Ni3Al) is an intermetallic alloy of nickel and aluminum with properties similar to both a ceramic and a metal.
Description:
a) Nickel aluminides (Ni3Al) have long been considered potentially useful because, of their ordered crystal structure. b) They are very strong and hard (lighter and five times stronger than stainless steel) and melt only at very high temperatures.
Nickel Aluminide Nominal Chemical Properties Available (wt %): Al= 11.3%, Ni= bal., Zr= 0.6, and B= 0.02 Nickel Aluminide Physical Properties Available: A large number of size ranges are available for consolidation, P/M, thermal spray, injection molding, and other specialty applications

TITANIUM ALUMINIDE
Titanium aluminide, TiAl, is an intermetallic chemical compound. Lightweight and resistant to oxidation and heat, it suffers from low ductility.
Gamma TiAl has excellent mechanical properties and oxidation and corrosion resistance at elevated temperatures (over 600 degrees Celsius) In aircraft turbine engines used Titanium Aluminide Typical Chemical Purities Available: 99.5%
APPLICATIONS
US national aerospace plane, air frames, investment casting, automotive engine valves, turbocharger rotors, and wire/fiber metal matrix composites Aircraft Commerical jet engines.
