SELF-EFFICACY OF TYTANA NURSING STUDENTS AS HEALTH EDUCATORS AND THEIR EFFECTIVENESS TO THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS

INTRODUCTION
Patient education aimed at preventing diseases, promoting positive health, and incorporating the physical, mental, and social aspects of learning needs. In light with this, nurses must have a strong background, grounded on theories and evidence-based practice, in conducting health education among the public. The purpose of patient education is to increase the competence and confidence of patients for self-management. Family is considered to be a unit of care because the family is a group of people that regenerates, prevents and corrects health problem. The learning of the nursing students in the clinical area can be applied in their own family by sharing their experiences to them thru health education. The purpose of the study was to know the relationship between self-efficacy of Tytana nursing students and their effectiveness to their family members. METHODOLOGY
Research Design: Quantitative, Descriptive-Correlational Non-Experimental Design Sample and Sampling Technique: Purposive Sampling Technique Criteria for Nursing Student Respondent: enrolled to BSN curriculum in Manila Tytana Colleges in academic year 2012-2013 third year regular or irregular nursing students and currently enrolled in NCM 104 and NCM 105 living with their family in the following cities: Paranaque, Las Pinas, Pasay, Makati and Taguig willing to participate in the conduct of the study Criteria for Nursing Student Respondent: living with the nursing student respondent willing to participate in the study Research Instrument and Technique: Two validated self-made questionnaire Nursing Student Respondent Questionnaire: composed of 20 questions which are under the four different categories performance accomplishments, vicarious experiences, verbal persuasions, and emotional arousal where each category has five questions under it.
