Vital Force
Elements/Disease Producing agents derange vital force. It self cures diseases like cuts, colds etc. Vital force repairs the Body but requires help if disease is very strong. In chronic diseases and critical illnesses like Typhiod etc.

Samuel Hahnemann.
Born in Germany in 1755. Founded Homeopathy. Was M.D. in Allopathy from university of Leipsic. Principle of like cures Like. Experiment with cinchona bark-Quinine. Cured malaria but left patient very weak.

Minimum Dose
Reduced quantity of medicine still worked with less side effects. Potencies- Decimal/ Centismal. One drop of mother tincture is mixed with 9 drops of purified alcohol and vigorously shaken forms 1st potency of decimal. One drop of 1st potency with 9 drops 2nd Potency.

Centismal Potency
One drop of mother tincture mixed with 99 drops of pure alcohol and shaken vigorously makes 1st Centismal potency. Normally decimal potencies of 6x, 12X, 30X, and 200 X are used. Centismal potencies of 6c,30c,200c,1000c,10000c,and 100000c are used.

Theory of cure.
Medicines create artificial disease which is self extinguishing in nature. A similar artificial disease overwhelms weaker natural disease and then disappears. He found this by experiments- If a person with chickenpox gets smallpox, chickenpox is extiguished and smallpox takes over.

Dosage and repetition.

Medicine similar to the disease should be selected. Potency selected depends on whether the disease is weak, strong, acute or chronic. One single dose of medicine should be given. If the potency and medicine is right cure takes place.

Repetition
If the similarity is not exact, slight aggravation of symptons occures. As soon as aggravation occurs stop medicine. It is soon followed by amelioration and cure if medicine is right and potency correct. If improvement stops and symptons are same repeat dose. If new symptons appear select new similar medicine.

Laws of Cure.
Centre to circumference. From above downward. From reverse order of appearance in chronic diseases. Reason for chronic disease- Psora, Sycosis and Syphillis.

Materia Medica.
How to find which medicine is similar? Hahnemann and healthy students experimented by taking medicines in large doses and noted down symptons as they arose for as long as the artificial disease continued sometimes for months. These listing of symptons are called materia medica- Proving of medicines

Materia Medica contd.

In the materia medica all symptons proved are listed from top downwards- Mental symptons, head ,eyes, nose etc. We have to take symptons of the patient and match with symptons of the medicines as proved in healthy provers. The best match is the right medicine.

Hierarchy of Symptons.
The Most important symptons are mental symptons. Next in importance is causation, aggravations and ameliorations. Also pertaining to to patient-peculiarities, his likes,dislikes, the current disease symptons etc.

Repertory.
It is difficult to match patients symptons with materia medica as one requires phenomenal memory. Hence repertories are created which gives medicines which contain a particular sympton for example bad memory for names etc. They are the reverse of materia medica.Symptons listed contain medicines in 3 degrees-Bold letters, Italics and standard. Bold letter symptons are proved in most provers, italics in less and standard occasionally.

Thereapeutics
These books contain medicines to be selected depending of most common diseases. How to select right medicines based on individual symptons and experience. They also give which potencies to prescribe and guidance to repetition.
