In Asia Pacific, Baxter has had a significant presence for nearly 40 years. As of 2006, Baxter Asia
Pacific with a sales of USD $ 1.2 Billion, employed about 6,000 people and operated 11
manufacturing plants in the region. Given the vast geography and dynamic development of the
diverse markets, Baxter Asia Pacific operates in the structure of five sub-regions namely Japan,
China, North Asia, Australia/ New Zealand and India/ SouthEast Asia.

Baxter India, a subsidiary of Baxter International Inc., was set up in India in 1997 to provide
critical therapies for people with life threatening conditions. The company is headquartered in
Gurgaon and has operations spread across the country. In India, Baxter employs about 750
people spread across 52 locations, including 3 manufacturing facilities at Manesar, Waluj and
Alathur.
