A. Physical Barriers
In workplace, such barriers can be caused by the
different seating arrangements for staff members
belonging to different status. This distance factor can
be a hindrance in normal workplace communication.
Communication Barriers
A. Physical Barriers
Physical environment like constant background
noise, poor lighting, can cause a lot of
distraction and often come in the way of
communication.
Communication Barriers
B. Lack of Communication Skills
Unclear message
This happens when the sentences are not completed
or there is a long pause in between two words.
Communication Barriers
B. Lack of Communication Skills
Inconsistency
In such a scenario, the listener doubts the credibility
and authenticity of the said words. Those who have
low confidence or lack of self esteem, often fail to
communicate properly.

Communication Barriers
C. Language Barriers
During conversations, if a person uses a lot of jargon
or buzzwords, then such words would become a
communication barrier.
Communication Barriers
This happens because not
many people are familiar with
those specialized terms.
Hence, they may not even
understand certain parts of
the message and would feel
left out.
D. Barriers of Attitude
This arises mainly due to personal conflict between
individuals; as both the individuals involved delay the
communication due to clash of interests.
Communication Barriers
Such inflexible attitude is
observed among employees
of an organization when
they lack motivation, or are
dissatisfied with poor
management.
E. Emotional Barriers
This barrier is associated with the
mental state of an individual
during communication.
If an individual is having a bad
mood and it gets reflected in his
or her words of communication,
then the listener will lose interest
in listening to the message. You
can refer to barriers to effective
communication.
