Good innovations towards growth & company
image is well respected globally
Chinese market infrastructure & rule of law
Huge focus on fnancial system(China)

not been good experience in Germany
Research center Marketing & Research tool
Part of big industries healthcare, energy,
infrastructure, finance (30 total)
GE of the future determined by how integral
GE is globally
Investors seek consistency energy &
insurance, a volatile combination
Ans.1.
Aspirational leader
Visionary in his passion to take GE to another level
Focused, commited to the task at hand
Determined, focused and dedicated towards
improving organizational culture to fit global
standards

Ans.2.
GEs past CEO Jack Welch hired & fired differently
Immelts selection is similar to Welch but not so
direct
Takes employees in pursuit of the organizational
goal through by rewards system like directely and
indirectly motivating them
Changed the way employees are handled regarding
any bad news like dismissal but tries to convey it by
being empathetic to employees grievances
Ans. 3.
It depends on many factors such as language,
culture, customs, society etc
They will not be embraced, the reason is that older
employees perceive the newer ones as direct
competitors and not welcomed with both hands
It might have a detrimental effect on the working
standards, as conflicting obligations towards work
may occur resulting in delays and not being
conducive towards the reaching of the
organizational goal
Ans. 4.
Changing organizational culture by instilling belief
in the minds of employees towards achieving the
goals of organization by using motivational tools
and grievances control through appropriate
feedback from employees
Also, the global organizational culture of GE in
some areas not so profound e.g. Germany for
such regions, design a proper marketing strategy to
compete with the likes of Siemens and Philips and
challenge them for share of German market

Ans. 5.
Hardest task will be to manage the conflict arising
in organization with the added pressure of
managing them but at the same time not hurting
their sentiments in the process.
Immelt must possess good assertive skills
learning how to say NO in such a manner as to not
hurt the feelings of others
Managing different SBUs so that targets are
fulfilled and deadlines dont get postponed

Ans. 5.
Yes, we think he does so.
All of his statements seem to be very direct, like
having a hidden motive or agenda e.g. even in
comparison with Jack, he shortens the reply to such
an extent that it has hidden meaning
He is not transparent because only the financial
figures are revealed by him whereas the other
figures are omitted, maybe on purpose

Immelt portrays himself as a mix of an
autocratic and Laissez faire leader
His traits and attributes do not suit him as a
leader
He should have been a manager as his
responsibilities as a leader and his actions as
a leader are in conflict

His vision for the company is good, but the
pathway to get there is very muddled or
confusing
He does have a plan for getting there, but needs
support from other top level management so
that the mission, vision, strategy(corporate &
HR) go side by side toward the betterment of
the company both financially as well as
strategically in an effective manner
