Emphasis given to developing students knowledge about the world around them, the knowledge on textual organization the world, and the systemic knowledge of the language. Concerning the teaching of reading comprehension in FL, in order to facilitate the discursive engagement of the reader/learner, it is necessary to focus on the world (background) knowledge and on the textual knowledge that this learner has as a user of his/her first language, and then gradually introduce systemic knowledge. In this way, emphasis on the third cycle should be given to general comprehension, while in the 4th cycle, the focus should be general and detailed comprehension..
