And through questioning the RMOs, we came to
know that the customers have friendly relationship
with them and they visit the particular outlet just to
place their order from a specific officer.

The products offered by TCS FS are customer friendly
because the insurance policies are easily accessible or

TCS is not known as Financial Service
Provider
Through careful analysis of data the result were that,
TCS is not known as a financial service provider as of
now.
People know TCS as Courier service, so it would take
a whole lot of effort to change the mind set of the
customers.

TCS have limited Customer Data
Banks and other financial institutions have big
databases of their customers and they can predict when
a customer might be about to move to a competitor by
doing a predictive analysis
They monitor customer journeys through the tangle of
websites, call centers, and other branch personnel to
understand their paths that customers follow through
the bank, and how those paths affect attrition or the
purchase of particular financial service
Whereas TCS have only name, contact number and the
address of the customer who avail their courier service
Employees at Different Express Centers
arent interested
Through employee survey at different Express Centers,
it was resulted that employees are not motivated and
neither interested in promoting the TCS Financial
Services.

Growth Drivers (Life)
Success in developing distribution channels has been the
main factor for the life industrys success
The growth in the last few years has been mainly driven by
growth in bancassurance which constitutes a significant
proportion of the business of most of the private sector
players
The life industry may have also benefited from the tax
incentive introduced bringing the industry at par with
mutual funds in allowing a tax credit for premiums paid
into a life insurance policy

Significant Changes (Life)
The most significant change in the last couple of years has been
the exit of yet another multinational from the life industry
Metlife ALICO has decided to exit Pakistan
As in the case of Commercial Unions exit the life company has
been bought over by a major non-life company in this case
IGI
Major global multinationals do not appear to have an interest in
Pakistan
This has, however, probably more to do with our overall security
environment rather than market dynamics
The other potential significant change the possibility of
introduction of window takaful players in 2012 was pre-
empted by the family takaful players taking the SECP to court
and having the 2012 Takaful Rules suspended
The Future (Life)
The life industry has only 9 players ignoring Postal Life
(SECP 18 May 2013)
The industry, given its recent growth, has shown that there
is room for more players
It is understood that there are a couple of parties interested in
setting up new life companies
The major constraint appears to be human resources
This is an area where the industry has to focus if the
impressive growth of the past few years is to be carried
forward into the future

People Preferences For Islamic Insurance
Customers directly dealing with
Insurance companies
It can be threat that might be in future customers will directly
deal with other insurance companies according to our survey
we have found that most of customers has insurance from
TPL, Efu, Adamjee etc. For eg if a company wants to insure
its employees it will directly deal with the insurance company
to save its cost rather than dealing with an intermediary.

Lack of awareness and preferability of
insurance among people.
People do not have knowledge about insurance and
those who have dont prefer to buy, due to fraud or
Islamic point of view. As we have found from survey
that most of customers dont know about insurance
and when we told them about insurance they were
reluctant to buy.

Bancassurance
Most insurance companies provide insurance policies
through third party; banks.
Banks have high number of walk-in customers and
they have advantage to target them and sell insurance
policies then and there.
Whenever banks lease cars or finance homes, they
provide insurance with them. Which makes the selling
of insurance policy easy for the banks.

People Preferences For Islamic Insurance
The takaful insurance has been introduced in Pakistani market in 2005.
There were only two players in the market at that time but with the
passage of time and witnessing the growth prospects most of the private
and commercial banks starts their own takaful insurance products.
According to Mr. Jamil-ur-Rehman (SBP, PSD) the scope of takaful
insurance would one day eat up the share of conventional insurance
because it is free from gambling and interest. According a survey
conducted by Gallop Pakistan, there are 43% people who are in favor
of takaful insurance while there are 21% who have doubts and didn't
agree that there is a difference between takaful and conventional
insurance.
