Safety Committee
It is the forum for communicating and evaluating safety
and health issues at workplace

Committee will have:
Terminal Manager as Chairman
Nominated members from various dept.
Worker level representatives

Committee meeting will be once in a month to discuss,
plan and review the performance of various activities.

Functions of Safety Committee

Assisting and co-operating with the management in
achieving aims and objectives outlined in safety & health
policy
Dealing with all matters concerning HSE and provide
solutions
Creating safety awareness amongst all workers
Undertaking educational, training and promotional activities
Discussing reports on safety, environment and occupational
health surveys, safety audits, risk assessment etc.
Carrying out health and safety surveys and identifying
causes of accidents, incidents, near misses
Looking into complaints made regarding safety and health &
suggesting corrective measures
Review the implementation of recommendations made
Communication
It is one of the most effective ways to improve safety
culture & prevent incidents & injuries is to optimise
safety related communication throughout an
organisation.
Consultation must include:
Any change which may substantially affect their health
and safety at work
Information about the likely risks and dangers arising
from their work, measures to reduce or get rid of these
risks and plans to deal with them
Plan of health and safety training
Health & safety consequences of introducing new
technology/new equipment/new processes

Personal Protective Equipment

Devices used to protect an employees from injury or illness
resulting from contact with chemical , radiological, physical,
electrical, mechanical, or other workplace hazards.
The need for PPE and the type of PPE used is based on
hazard present; each situation must be evaluated
independently.
