To advocate an end to human rights abuses in
the DPRK, empower North Korean refugees,
and ultimately reunify Korea.
MISSION STATEMENT
WHO WE ARE
A non-religious, non-partisan, non-profit organization
founded in 2006 by Kim Young-Il, a North Korean
refugee.

A tax-exempt NGO with the South Korean Ministries of
Unification, and Strategy and Finance.

The only NGO focusing exclusively on North Korean
Human Rights with UN Economic and Social Council
(ECOSOC) special consultative status (since 2012).

Kim Young-Il
1995-1996: served in the North Korean Army
1996: escaped North Korea with his parents and brothers
after years of persistent famine
1996-2001: lived and worked in China
2000: first attempt to leave China for South Korea
2001: arrived in Seoul, South Korea via Mongolia
2006: graduated from Korea Foreign Language University
() with a degree in Chinese
2006, October 5: founded PSCORE
