ASAP: What is it ?
Accelerated SAP methodology is proven,
repeatable and successful approach to
implement SAP solutions across industries
and customer environments.
It provides content, tools and expertise
from thousands of successful
implementations.
What does it do?
Supports project management

Purpose is to deliver on time, according to
specifications and within budget

Leverages best business practices

Addresses things like interfaces, data
conversions and authorizations


Phases in Implementation
ASAP methodology comprises of 5 phases
Phase 1: Project Preparation
Project Preparation will kick off the project
and include:
1.Project charter:
a. Project Objectives
b. Functional, Technical and Geographic scope
c. Issue Management
d. Risk Management
e. Complexity Management
f. Project Plan

2. System Landscape Strategy
3. Establish Project Team working
environment
4. Identify technical requirements
5. Procure Hardware
6. Training Schedule
7. Quality Check


Phase 2: Business Blueprint
In this phase, the Project Team will define
the Clients business practices and
parameters, review the business goals and
business structure, and how SAP will
realize those processes.
It includes:
Defining Organization Structure
Question and Answer Data Base
Master Data Templates
Identifying Roles and Authorizations
Level 2 hands-on training providing a
step-by-step education of the R/3
business process skills.
Phase 3: Realization
In this phase, the system will be
configured to the clients requirements as
defined in the Blueprint and include:
Unit ,Integration and Scenario testing
Develop enhancements
Create reports and layout sets
End user documentation and training
material
This phase will include the following
deliverables:
Final configuration and confirmation
Final Integration / Scenario Test/s
Perform Quality Check
Phase 4:Final Preparation
In this phase, the Project Team will prepare for
implementation of the system.
Tasks within the phase include:
Prepare and conduct end user training
Refine system management
Uploading of Master data & Transactional Data
Refine cut over plans and production support
Cut over to production system
Perform Quality Check

This phase will include the following
deliverables:
Cut over to production system
GO / No Go decision
Perform Quality Check
Phase 5:Go Live
In this phase, the Project Team will assure
that end-users needs are being met.
Tasks in this phase include:
Production support
Follow up training
Define long term plans
Perform project review / Issue
Management
