DSLAM
DSLAM is an integrated hardware and software system
that multiplexes several DSL and allows the user to
access Broadband services as well as originate and
receive PSTN calls over the same copper wire
simultaneously
DSLAM are available in two flavors:
Traditional DSLAM
IP DSLAM

DSLAM FUNCTIONS
Aggregates the output from ADSL lines
Provides L2 protocol conversion if required
Enforces quality of service (QoS) policies
Routes or Bridges data traffic towards backbone
network
