What are Air Emissions?
Air emissions are gases emitted into the air from
industrial and chemical processes.

What is Air Pollution?
Toxification of the atmosphere through the addition of
one or more harmful substances in the air in
concentrations high enough to be hazardous to
humans, animals, vegetation, or materials
What are some examples of
Air Emissions?
Carbon monoxide (CO),
Carbon dioxide (CO
2
),
Nitrogen oxides (NO
x
),
Sulfur oxides (SO
x
),
Hydrogen chloride (HCl),
Particulates (soot, dust, ash).

Why Reduce Air Pollution?
Air Pollution causes:
o Smog;
o Acid rain;
o Breathing problems;
o Global warming;
o Visibility impairment.

inorganic substances emitted into the atmosphere. Column A values apply
to existing establishments. Column B values apply to establishments set
up after the day the new regulation came into effect.
