A score below 40 out of 100 (absolute score below 40%) would be deemed as failure - (Grade F)
Student needs to secure 40% marks in each course (separately for Continuous and External evaluation)

These eight grades will be allocated to those who have got more than or equal to 40% of absolute marks.
Relative grading: The assessment of students will be done based on the relative performance of the students on proportion method.

In effect, about 68% of the population about the mean score would fall in B and C grades.

A student having only internal backlog and no external backlog of Semester I and clearing the same prior to Semester III External Examination are permitted to appear for Semester III External Examination.
Similarly student having only internal backlog & no external backlog in Semester-I and Semester II and clearing it prior to external examination of Semester IV are permitted to appear for Semester IV External examination.

Use of pencil during University Exam
SIU notification SIU/Exam/608/2628 dated 9th June 2012
You are requested to instruct the students to use only Blue or Black pen(ink pen or ball pen) during the University Examination unless instructed otherwise. Use of black pencil or colour pencil / colour pen/ colour ball pen is not permitted. Use of pencil is permitted only in case of diagrams , graphs etc. as per instructions.
Please note that answers written in pencil / colour pencil / colour pen/ colour ball pen will not be evaluated.

Board of examinations SIU has decided that backlog examination forms will not be accepted after the last date for submission of Examination forms with the late fees is over any circumstances.
5/6/2014 CGPA-2012 onwards 21 Charges from the student to see their answer script of University Examination(External examination) SIU notification SIU/Exam/605/73 of 2013 dated 8 th May 2013
The charges from the student to see their answer script of University Examination (External examination) are Rs 3000/- per Course.
If the student is not satisfied with the result of any course/ courses, he /se should apply for revaluation. After the re- evaluation , result is declared, if the student wants to see his/ her answer script , he/ she may apply to University through the head of respective Institute. 5/6/2014 CGPA-2012 onwards 22 Internal Assessment Grievances, if any, after the declaration of marks of each of the internal assessment

Attendance will be given for Fitness Club.
Absence from the Guest Lecture: Institute incurs substantial expenditure to arrange for guest lectures and workshops by well-known personalities. So students who remain absent for the guest lectures will be issued a Demerit Card.
5/6/2014 CGPA-2012 onwards 24 Attendance rules. No attendance will be granted for any illness.
However in extreme cases leading to hospitalization, the expert opinion of Symbiosis Centre of Health Care & the Directors discretion will prevail.
5/6/2014 CGPA-2012 onwards 25 Attendance rules. Minimum 75% attendance in aggregate is mandatory for all the students of the University to be eligible to appear for the external examination of all courses of the term.
