Background

HSDPA and HSUPA schedulers (SM rel.2) do not consume CE licenses
HSDPA/HSUPA will have own capacity licenses.
RU30 Licenses are defined as
HSDPA Processing Set
HSUPA Processing Set
R99 CE

RU30 License
Concept

System Module Rel.2 consists of certain number of processing subunits
(SU , 1SU = 48 R99 CE).
Each SM Rel.2 contains CCCH processing resources required for Basic
Configurations (6 cells/10km or 3cells/20km). No additional CE needed.

System allocates the SU according to the License information.
SU for HSDPA is dedicated only for HSDPA.
SU for HSUPA and R99 can be overlapped and shared among each other.

SU for R99 SU for HSUPA SU for HSDPA

Up to 2 HSDPA schedulers are supported with one SM Rel.2

HSDPA throughput provided by scheduler depends on:
Activated features
Number and type of BTS processing sets (# users and throughput)
HSDPA throughput commissioning (BB resources allocation)
In RU30 there is only one type of HSDPA scheduler with SM Rel.2

HSUPA processing set Max number of HSUPA users Max HSUPA throughput
HSUPA BTS processing set 1 24 5.8 Mbps
1 HSUPA Processing Set allows to reach 5.8Mbps or 24 users
HSUPA baseband resources allocation is performed in steps so called HSUPA resource
steps. One step is equal to of System Module rel.2 subunit.
HSUPA baseband capacity reservation is based on HSUPA license (HSUPA BTS processing
sets)
In case if R99 CE licensed baseband resources are overlapping HSUPA licensed baseband
resources overlapped resources can be dynamically exchanged between R99 and HSUPA
users
One HSUPA BTS processing set license corresponds to 6 HSUPA resource steps (1.5 subunit)
HSUPA Dimensioning
In RU30EP1 with System Module Rel.2, one HSUPA scheduler can support up to 200
HSUPA users from 1 to 12 cells. (up to 240 HSUPA user in RU30EP2)
Up to one HSUPA scheduler is allocated per single LCG with single System Module Rel.2
Up to two HSUPA schedulers are allocated per single LCG with two System Modules rel.2
and frequency layers mapping to HW (note that frequency mapping to HW is
possible only in one LCG scenario (RU30EP1/EP2))
up to 400 HSUPA users supported per LCG (2 x System Module rel.2)

Tcell grouping
Group 2: Tcell values 3, 4 and 5
Group 4: Tcell value 9
Group 1: Tcell values 0, 1 and 2
Group 3: Tcell values 6, 7 and 8
Tcell grouping is used to group cells to the HSDPA scheduler
Tcell groups 1 and 3 are handled by the first scheduler in System Module Rel.2 and Tcell groups 2
and 4 are handled by the second scheduler in System Module Rel.2.
The same Tcell values can be used by different cells if those are allocated to different frequency
layers.
With Dual Cell HSDPA feature both cells from one sector must have the same Tcell value. Note
that with the dual cell feature, two cells from the same sector need to be served by the same
scheduler and belong to the same LCG.
One scheduler can handle up to two Tcell groups. If there is only one Tcell group used, six cells
can be supported. If there are two Tcell groups and one scheduler, up to three cells per Tcell group
can be supported (still up to six cells are supported totally).
Maximum four Tcell groups per LCG are possible
The principles of grouping are as follows:

Agenda
LCG
In RU30 single LCG covers up to 12 cells with pure Release 2 HW configuration (System
Module + RF module). Up to four LCGs can be created in pure Rel. 2 HW configuration
In case of at least one HW Rel.1 (System Module or RF module) up to two LCGs can be
created each containing max 6 cells
With pure HW rel.2 it is possible to use flexible BB pooling (LCG baseband capacity is
assigned (commissioned) by % The percentage division is rounded to one subunit.

M5006 WBTS R99 HW - LCG
From WN7.0 onwards M5001 counters are not anymore updated for
FlexiBTS Rel2 but new measurement type M5006 WBTS R99 HW
Resource replaces it.
The reason for this change is that Rel2 has separate licensing for channel
types Rel99 / CSoHSPA / HSxPA.
In case mixed Rel2 and Rel1 HW these M5001 counters are still reported
for Rel1 HW

Rel99 CE capacity counters are available with M5006
