ABOUT
Originally known as I Phone
OS and was introduced in
2007.

It was used to describe the
software that would operate
the I Phone and is derived
from the term "OS X.
Available in 34 languages
worldwide.
It is an Apple's proprietary
mobile operating system
(OS) for its handheld
devices, such as the I Phone, I
Pad and iPod Touch.
The system responds to
various user gestures, such as
pinching, tapping and
swiping.
Programmed in c, c++ and

Who invented OS X and IOS
If we use OS x, or IOS we shouldnt be thankful for Steve
Jobs Well not entirely anyway. Sure, they played a big
part in their respective developments. But there is one
man who played a much bigger part.

OS X, and IOS are written using a programming code
called C. Two other programming codes are used for OS
X, and IOS are C++ and Objective C (they are basically
just later versions of C), but C has been a foundation
of both of these operating systems since their beginning.

C was invented by a man called Dennis Ritchie.

He invented it while working at Bell Labs between 1969-
1973.
HISTORY OF IOS
OS-first Apple smartphone operating system was not given a specific name until the following March,
with the launch of the first Software Development Kit beta., when it became known as iPhone OS.

IOs 2- Coinciding with the launch of the iPhone 3G, the second major update to the operating system
saw the launch of the App Store, leading to the introduction of third party apps and game.

IOS 3 -With the third incarnation for the new 3GS handset, the cut, copy and paste function finally
became commonplace, alongside the long-awaited push notifications for third party apps.

IOS 4- It was the first operating system to bear the IOS name, released on the new flagship iPhone 4.
Its folder system accommodated the storing of up to 12 similar apps within one mother folder, while
multitasking allowed apps to run simultaneously.

IOS 5- Before IOS 5, notifications were delivered in a blue dialog box. This system of notification
management was greatly criticised. In the IOS 5 update, the notifications feature was completely
redesigned. Notifications collate in a window which can be dragged down from the top of the screen.

IOS6- New features included a new Maps application with data developed by Apple,
the Passbook application for storing tickets and loyalty cards, enhancements to Siri and user-definable
'VIP' inboxes for mail from known recipients.

2008 .

the IOS mobile operating system designed
by Apple Inc. preceded by IOS 6 and

It was released on September 18, 2013.

Jonathan Ive.
