Why Use Fluid Loss Isolation Barrier Valves?

Prevents formation damage = improved well productivity
Provides well control barrier
Reduces rig time and associated cost during completion
Isolates the formation without need for a kill weight fluid
Facilitates placement of completion fluid for well start up
4 FOR INTERNAL USE ONLY
FS2 Valve Sizes Available

7, 9 5/8, 10
Pressure rating up to 10,000 psi
across ball
Up to 15,000 psi collapse rating
Up to 10,000 psi burst rating
Up to 350 F temperature rating
5 FOR INTERNAL USE ONLY
Enhanced fluid management - redesigned fluid communication path
within ball mechanism to ensure valve opens in debris
Increased opening force - hydraulic power assist feature to double
available opening force
Increased differential opening capable of opening against higher
pressure differentials
Removal of transit pin eliminate potential for human error
Standard design all sizes of valve offer the same features and
benefits.
Objective: Provide a fluid loss valve that operates reliably
in more demanding conditions a Debris and Isolation

7 FOR INTERNAL USE ONLY
FS Valve - Key Areas/Features
Actuation system unaffected by changes in lower annulus pressure
(Liquid Spring)
Actuation occurs when pressure is removed, avoiding surging the
formation (Liquid Spring)
No atmospheric or nitrogen charged chamber to limit time to actuation
Sealed actuation mechanism prevents control system contamination
Shrouded ball provides debris tolerance
Simple workshop testing procedures

Power Spring Module
Uses two wave springs (mounted in
series) to give power output to shift
the ball from the closed to open
position following completion of the
required number of pressure cycles

Efficient use of available space to
optimise power output during ball
opening
