Bhasman meaning

Bhasman is singular and bhasma is plural. It


means -
1. chewing, devouring, consuming, pulverizing
which refers to the actions required for its
creation
2. Ashes which is pulverized a or calcined by
fire; churna is another name for that which is
just pulverised or powdered but not
consumed or calcined
3. bhasma-dhraa: sacred ashes smeared on
the body
Bhasma in Ayurveda
Bhasma in Ayurveda has been defined as
a substance obtained by calcination.
Use of both bhasma (Residue after
incineration calcined preparation) or
Pishti (powdered gem or metal) form along
with appropriate herbs for treatment of
critical ailments is a medicinal preparation
in Ayurveda and to some extent Unani
Indian branches of medical science using
natural curative methods.
Bhasma Preparation
Bhasma is a calcined preparation in which the
substance (gem, conch, bone or metal) is
converted into ash.
The substance is purified to remove impurities and
treated by triturating and macerating in herbal
extracts. The dough so obtained is calcinated to
obtain the ashes.
Substances include
1. gemstones (applied on forehead or consumed)
2. conch, skull, (sakha bhasma)
3. metals especially from gold (Svarna bhasma), silver
and copper (tamra bhasma).
4. Jasada Bhasma from Zinc is used for medicine.
5. Cow Dung [Snakes keep away from this]

Median Nerve
A passageway from the wrist to the hand, the carpal tunnel is made of
tendons, ligaments and carpal bones. The median nerve passes
through the tunnel and provides sensation to your thumb, index finger,
middle finger and the middle finger side of the ring finger.

ENERGY POSTURE (iva Liga):
Method:
Intertwine fingers of the two hands
while raising any one thumb (2
variations). One thumb should
remain upright and is encircled with
the other thumb and the index
finger. Hands should be kept close
to the chest.

Benefits: By practicing for 1 to 5
minutes for 7 days, it is beneficial in
controlling coughs, colds, asthma,
paralysis, vibration, sinuses, and
low blood pressure.
